Select 5 photos from several hundred... and maybe thousands...not such an easy task. But it is simplified by the fact that you need to choose a photo associated with some significant or important event. The circle is shrinking, though not by much

Nevertheless, I will try to complete this task. But I will do this not to participate in the competition (for me it is not possible), but simply as a test of myself. And of course, it allows you to look back at past events.

I must say right away, I have not divorced or married, there have been no fundamental changes in my life and I will not take selfies. In most cases, a selfie is a keepsake photo or for social networks. But it cannot be a photo for a contest of high-quality/artistic photos (with very rare exceptions).

This year I didn't have the opportunity to travel long distances (and I love it very much), but I couldn't just sit at home. Periodically we got into the car and visited some interesting place. These are the places we are going to walk through now.

The first thing that came to my mind was a visit to Vyborg.

I have many photos of old Vyborg and I have been to it more than once. On tourist postcards you can see an old fortress, or a round tower. Perhaps something from the buildings in the city center. I'll show you one angle that I haven't seen anywhere yet (it definitely exists somewhere, of course). This is a view of the port part of the old town across the canal.
Please note, every building here is unique (I don't mean the new storage facilities on the pier).
I have already dedicated my posts to this city and will continue to do so.

The second place that I want to show you will be the suburb of St. Petersburg, the city of Lomonosov (Oranienbaum).

Of course, I've been there before. But this visit was special... I have discovered new places in the park of this city. We used to wander along the alleys from one palace to another. It's always beautiful, especially in autumn. But even last year, part of the park was closed to the public (we just didn't know about the other entrance). This fall we went there... there is a lot of water, autumn gold, a lot of space and very cozy.

The third photo is my small homeland, the place where I was born and grew up.

This is the Tver region. This time we went to visit my mom and took my son and his children (our granddaughters) with us. Of course, this trip was memorable first of all for them. They were born and raised in the city. One night we went to the forest on the bank of a small river and lit a fire there. Such a bonfire was the first in their lives. Of course, it's unforgettable for me too. Now, in the costume of the fire fairy, you see that granddaughter who painted the underwater world yesterday for Xpilar.

The fourth photo is dedicated to my recent ascent to the roof of a house in my city (St. Petersburg).

I've been living in this city for a long time, but only this year I got on such a roof and it's an unforgettable feeling. It is very interesting to observe the life of citizens from above and look for silhouettes of familiar buildings in the foggy distance. The easiest way, of course, is to guess the domes of churches, they stand out well against the background of roofs. Despite the frosty and cloudy day, I was lucky and I saw the setting sun. A rare piece of luck for this time of year.

I will dedicate my 5th picture to one of my discoveries for myself.

I read about it once, but I've never tried to put it into practice. And so I tried... for me, this is a real event, I discovered a new world of photography - drawing with light on the camera matrix. This is when an image far from reality is obtained directly at the moment of pressing the camera shutter. I will not describe here how it is done. I already have posts on this topic and there will be more. But experiments in this area now take up a decent part of my time.
