I must admit that I don't get to be in a city lit up at night very often, I'm a sleeper lol.
But when that happens, I certainly do. I take a camera with me to catch such rare moments for me.
Once, circumstances developed in such a way that I had to leave a warm bed and go out into a frosty night at about four in the morning, when most normal people are still sleeping and they are just beginning to have sweet dreams.
I did not expect to see something special, interesting, my thoughts were only occupied with assumptions about the availability of public transport at this time of the day, so that I could get to my destination on time.
As I got closer to the bus stop, I saw a festive atmosphere on a small street between the stalls.
Hundreds of bright lights of garlands illuminated my path.
I liked the combination of gloomy, sleeping stalls and bright lights and I wanted to enhance this impression, which, today, is a very vivid memory of that day, especially considering that most of the day and evening, now, you have to be in the dark due to total energy savings associated with rocket attacks on our city by Russian cruise missiles.
The hyperbole turned out to be interesting, I wanted to see the path that can be called the path to a brighter future.
This is how this street looked between the shopping arcades.
As in many of my other works, I try to find everything that is important and everything that is superfluous. I remove it from the photograph for further work.
As a background image, I used a photograph of a city at night with bright, yellow lights, which I took through the cloudy glass of a minibus on the same day.
I repositioned the photo and superimposed garlands on bright flashes of light.
It's time to pave your way with golden lights, for this, I cut out the garlands and turned them upside down, connecting all parts of the photo work together.
It became my reflection of very bright memories.
