A big greeting to all, today I join the contest of my friend @axeman, The World of XPILAR - PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY AND ART CONTEST WEEK # 060 - this time I want to share this work of art, where I make a portrait using as a reference to the great actress from Holliwood "Brigitte Bardot", on this occasion I integrate the geometric figure of the square to the drawing to make an effect of overloaded space, thus I give a novel appearance to the portrait, here I use the graphite pencil technique, this chiaroscuro technique It is monochromatic, we can make works that have that artistic nuance, in this work we observe the soft nuances, lighting, depth and volume, highlighting with a dark and strong contrast to give it more vision and realism.

Un gran saludo a todos, hoy me integro al concurso del amigo @axeman, The World of XPILAR - PORTRAIT PHOTOGRAPHY AND ART CONTEST WEEK #060 - en esta oportunidad quiero compartir este trabajo de arte, en donde realizo un retrato usando como referencia a la gran actriz de Holliwood "Brigitte Bardot", en esta ocacion integro al dibujo la figura geometrica del cuadrado para hacer un efecto de espacio sobrecargado, asi le doy una apariencia novedosa al retrato, aquí utilice la técnica de lápiz de grafito, esta técnica del claroscuro es monocromática, podemos realizar trabajos que tengan ese matiz artístico, en esta obra observamos los matices suaves, iluminación, profundidad y volumen, resaltando con un contraste oscuro y fuerte para darle mas visión y realismo.

Step 1

I make the sketch with the Hb-2 graphite pencil, it is very light and can be replaced by other dark tones, without leaving important traces that could ruin the portrait-style drawing.

Realizo el boceto con el lápiz de grafito Hb-2 es muy claro y se puede sustituir por otros tonos oscuros, sin dejar rastros importantes que puedan arruinar el dibujo al estilo de retrato.

Step 2

This portrait is in an almost full profile position, we can see very dark tones and areas very clearly, there is a lot of contrast, this effect is positive if we have graphite pencils with dark tones such as (B-6) (B -9 ) the patterns of lights and shadows are very visible here, you also have to know how to locate the elements that make up the figure.

Este retrato esta en una posición de perfil casi completo, podemos observar tonos muy oscuros y zonas con mucha claridad, hay mucho constraste, este efecto es positivo si tenemos los lapices de grafitos con tonalidades oscuras tales como (B-6 ) (B -9) los patrones de luces y sombras son muy visibles aqui, también hay que saber ubicar los elementos que componen la figura.

When obtaining the first light layer of the drawing, I focus my attention on giving a new layer this time darker, this will allow me to give the necessary contrast for this work, in the intermediate places of the face, I am mixing the different types of graphite, to give that realistic appearance of lighting and contrasts.

Al obtener la primera capa clara del dibujo, enfoco mi atención en dar una nueva capa esta vez mas oscura, esto me permitirá dar el contraste necesario para este trabajo, en los lugares intermedio del rostro, voy mezclando los diferentes tipos de grafitos, para dar esa apariencia realista de iluminación y contrastes.

In this example we can see that I cut some squares in a yellow folder to make the effect of overlapping shading, with a brush and cotton I add darkness with the remainder of the graphite left by the pencil sharpener.

En este ejemplo podemos observar que recorte unos cuadros en una carpeta amarilla para hacer el efecto de sombreados superpuestos, con una brocha y algodon doy oscuridad con el remanente del grafito que ha dejado el sacpuntas.
