I promised a while ago to write a story, one of those I tell from time to time. So…. here's the story.
An unhappy person wished for something to come into his life that would make him happy. The next day, a cat was waiting for him on the doorstep. He kicked her and went about his day. In the evening, the cat was at his door again. As soon as he unlocked it, she slipped between his legs and entered his gloomy home. The man chased her into the corner and went to bed with a heavy heart.
In the morning, the cat slept curled up next to his heart, and he felt somehow warmer. He got out of bed and sullenly drank his coffee. On the way out, he had already forgotten about the cat. In the evening he discovered that the cat had torn the thick curtains on the windows. He got angry and threw her out.
In the morning, the sun woke him with its gentle warm caress, sneaking through the torn curtains. And the man smiled for the first time in years. Realized that the cat had somehow managed to make room for herself next to him, to give him her body heat, to make his home brighter… and he had kicked her out last night. His heart was filled with regret and he searched for the cat all day. But she was gone. He only discovered her in the evening. On his doorstep again. He leaned down and stroked her, and she purred in the sweetest tone in the world. And the Man felt the happiness and fullness of his life for which he had prayed.
Caring and loving others brings happiness and fulfillment to our lives…. Not the money, not our ego, not our properties, not the number of acquaintances...
