The beginning of the trail located an hour away by motorbike from Ao Nang, the main travel hub of the province.
Ao Nang is a seaside town, colourful and, yeah, touristy but no much bustle over there, they have kept the peaceful atmosphere of a province, more a fishermen settlement than a city. There are many places to see around the town easily accessible on a rented motorbike or a tour boat including Ko Phi Phi islands where the movie The Beach starring DiCaprio was filmed once.
Prices in Ao Nang: 15$ for a room with AC, 1.5-3$ for a plate of street food, 8$ for a daily motorbike rental.
