A construction site in natural light (7 Photos)

These photos are taken in Grand Baie, Mauritius. The place is La Croisette shopping mall under contruction. I was staying in an apartment on the opposite side of the road which actually made me able to follow the building prosess. One late afternoon the as the sun was about to set the sky was totally orange. I took my camera and walked across the street to get as close as possible.

The buildings and the construction workers look like black silhouettes against the sky creating a still image in only two colors. It looks so calm and almost beautiful.

La Croisette was finished some years ago. It's a modern and well maintained mall with luxury shops, fine dining, cinema and large, public areas. The biggest mall in the northern part of the island with more than a hundred shops. It's rather expensive for locals and can seem a bit empty. But at the grocery stores there are usually a lot fo people.
