Maybe, Norway’s women should have won the whole final in handball for women. But they achieved the bronze medal after beating Sweden 36-19. And we should thank them for their efforts, and be grateful for them. Congratulations with the bronze medal!

Norway took bronze on Sunday 8 August after thrashing Sweden 36-19 dominating the clash as their fast attacks overwhelmed the Swedish defence. Norway also won bronze in women's handball at the 2016 Rio Olympics after taking the title at the 2012 and 2008 Games.

Left shy of the gold medal game for the second-straight Olympics, Norway left no doubt of its medal quality with an emphatic 36-19 pounding of neighbors Sweden on Saturday to win bronze at Tokyo 2020.

Norway led 19-7 at halftime and never looked back, claiming a second-straight bronze to make it four-consecutive Olympics with a medal.

It was the biggest blowout of the women's tournament.

Winners of gold in 2008 and 2012, Norway has also won a pair of silvers and three bronzes since 1988. The Scandinavian country has only missed out on a medal in 1996 and 2004. Thirty-year-old Nora Mork continued her incredible games. Mork entered the match with 44 goals, second-most in the tournament, and fired in eight more, and therefore Nora Mork ended up with 52 goals, and that is amazingly good! Kari Brattset Dale also scored eight times for Norway. Sweden was led by four goals each from Jenny Carlson and Johanna Westberg.

The origins of handball can be traced back to medieval times but it was in 1906 that the rules of modern handball were first created in Denmark. The game is hugely popular in Northern and Eastern Europe but is played around the world.

The philosophy of handball is that either is one team winning the game or there is a draw. Handball is about making as many goals as possible.

A match consists of two periods of 30 minutes each. How are the rules of the matches?

  • Each team consists of 7 players; a goalkeeper and 6 outfield players.
  • Outfield players can touch the ball with any part of their body that is above the knee.
  • Once a player receives possession, they can pass, hold possession or shoot.
  • If a player holds possession, they can dribble or take three steps for up to three seconds without dribbling.
  • Only the goalkeeper is allowed to come into contact with the floor of the goal area.
  • Goalkeepers are allowed out of the goal area but must not retain possession if they are outside the goal area.

We should be friendly with everyone, and we can all make mistakes, and we should forgive instead of fighting too much. But when there is a competition on something, we should win it, if we can! But try to find your vision and your mission on being on earth, and the better the networks are, the better possibilities we have, also for jobs!
