Grand Baie's number one attraction is all the water-based activities. It is one of the main tourist destinations in the northern part of the island. The bay does have swimming possibilities, but usually it is crowded with fishing boats, catamaran and boats that will take clients for diving etc. This is also the place to go to if you want to do deap-sea fishing. I took the photos on a walk along the bay a late afternoon

It's not only the water that attracts tourists. Grand Baie is famous for it's night life. The poplution count around 6000, but there are more than 10 night clubs in town. The selection of restaurants is not bad either. The town itself might not have too much to offer, but it does make a good place to stay and then use it as a base for exploring the countryside and the many secluded beaches further north.
