This tower, situated by the river in the city of Lisboa, Portugal, isn a UNESCO World Heritage site and probably one of the most iconic places in Lisboa. The reason for it's location by the river was to protect the city. The area of Belem, where the tower is located has lots of historical places connected to the Portuguese navigators who set out to explore the world in the 15th and 16th century.
