The World of XPILAR - LANDSCAPE/SEASCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY AND ART CONTEST WEEK #119 - Almost alone in the desert

DSC_01.jpg

The Atacama desert, located in the northern part of Chile, is one of the driest places on earth. The desert covers a 1000 km. stretch of land along the Pacific. It's hot and dry. Temperatures are extreme. It can be hot during the day, but at night in can fall to around 0. This was taken on a drive a litle south of San Pedro de Atacama. We hardly saw any other cars.
