B&W PHOTOGRAPHY AND ART CONTEST WEEK #146

Hello everybody, this is a part of the left side of the Milan Cathedral.

duomo.jpg

I took this photo two years ago on a rainy day. I made it with my cell phone and since the colors weren't that good, I decided to turn it into black and white.

I'm experimenting with learning how to draw it, if I ever get around to it, so I recovered some pics of the Duomo.

The left entrance does not lead to the church, but serves to reach the roof.

Not everyone knows that the Duomo of Milan is the largest church in Italy, in fact the Saint Peter Basilica, is located precisely in the Vatican city, in another State, so it doesn't count :)

It took centuries for the Duomo to look like it does today, and it is still ongoing restoration, you can see the scaffolding at the top. There are 135 Spiers on the roof, they are very delicate and there is even a program to adopt a Spire to support its restoration.

However, what impresses me most from the street is the large windows and the meticulous details of the hundreds of statues.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a nice day to all!
