Hello Steamians,😻
How are things going? I trust everyone is keeping well. Writing for the Unforgettable Trip contest has now become a habit. I look forward to the opportunity every week.
Last week I told you about one of my tours to a small island. So today I'm going to write about another my camping experience. Let's move to the story without further ado.
Idalgasinna is located at Haputale, Uva province. Idalgasinna Mountain is famous for camping. And also Idalgasinna railway station is famous. Because of its roof
Idalgasinna railway station is constantly shrouded in fog. The special thing about this railway station is that during the rainy season, the water that falls on the front
of the railway station's roof collects and flows into the Mahaweli River, which joins the sea in the eastern part of Sri Lanka. Also, the water that falls back on the roof
collects and flows into the Wala River, which joins the sea in the south of Sri Lanka.
Idalgashinna mountain can be climbed in just one hour and train traffic can be well watched from the top of the mountain. From the top of the mountain in the morning,
the whole area is shrouded in mist, so you feel like you are in heaven above the clouds.
Around Idalgasinna there are several tourist attractions. They are,
- Addison Bunglow - Haputale
- Pahanthdawa Waterfall - Belihul Oya
- Horton Plains
- Babarakanda Waterfall(Highest Waterfall in Sri Lanka)
- Devil's Staircase
You can reach these destinations within 1 - 2 hours. So If you are planning to hike Idalgashinna, You will be able to visit a lot of tourist attractions.
