The World of XPILAR - CITYSCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY AND ART CONTEST WEEK #177 | Jakarta At Night

On that day, after a full day of meetings, me and a friend from out of town wanted to tour Jakarta at night. Honestly, this was my first experience seeing Central Jakarta at night; usually, I just pass through while dealing with the usual traffic jams. We booked a GoCar, and our destination for the day was Hotel Indonesia Roundabout Or Bundaran HI and then the National Monument (Monas).

The journey from the hotel to Bundaran HI took 45 minutes. It wasn't congested because it was already 8 in the evening.

When we arrived, there were quite a few Jakarta locals hanging out near the Roundabout. There, I could see how the nightlife in this city that never sleeps unfolds. Endless vehicles slowed down as they passed through this roundabout. I took some photos of the Welcome Statue's reflection and the tall buildings around it.

We then continued our journey to the National Monument, but unfortunately, the park was closed due to renovation. I could only see and take pictures from outside the fence. We decided to head back to our hotel after that.
