The World of XPILAR - LANDSCAPE/SEASCAPE PHOTOGRAPHY AND ART CONTEST WEEK #151 - Sunset and Palm Trees

This picture is taken on one of our day outing. Over the weekend, we wanted to go for a long drive, spend some time out in nature and back. In Oman 50% of farming is covered by Date Palms and it is also one of the major export commodity. Dates have a lot of Religious significance in the Omani culture. If you visit any Hotels in Oman and also Government buildings then you will always find a bowl of Dates and Kahwa (Omani Black Coffee) being served at their lobbies. If you visit any local person house here in Oman, the first thing you will be greeted is with dates and Kahwa. It is like a welcome ritual for the guest. On our drive we took a halt at one of the hotels on the way and there in their Garden area were this Palm Date trees which were organized in a perfect manner to look at. The side palm trees are covered up with bougainvillea plants. It is a very soothing sight for the eyes. The Greens and Pinks were blending perfecting with each other.
