How to motivate people to buy STEEM - one more idea from papi | club75

Intro

In the next month, we will see the STEEM and SBD losing value drastically. Only ten biggest power-downs (zinasura, upvu, enki, photoholic, project7, yh70, goodhello, tipu, kiwifi, and alwaysgrateful) will flood the market with 2 150 000 STEEM for sale. There are over 1 000 power-downs in progress (5 with more than 100k SP, 39 with more than 10k SP, 187 with more than 1k SP, 591 with more than 100 SP, other is just plankton).

I believe that even if it is a dangerous situation (because it is - on Hive they already talk about which refugees from Steemit should be allowed to join the platform and which not), it could be also the opportunity to heal Steemit. We don't need users who are powering down. In fact, that's mostly the bid bots or Korean cheaters who were delegating 100% of their income to upvu or tipu, so getting rid of them is like healing from cancer.

The low price of STEEM will make it more affordable for the users. If @steemitblog would announce the temporary program that would last for a month, or better two, people who are valuable for the platform could buy that STEEM preventing the platform from disappearing and increasing the value of bloggers accounts, lowering the sum of money that goes to the bidboters. It may not prevent STEEM from losing its value but it will help to keep the price at a decent level.

Imagine that kind of scenario:

@steemitblog announces (the sooner, the better) that in January and February those of us who are in club5050/75/100 can participate in a new initiative. The requirement is that they never powered down nor delegated to bid bots. We could make a hashtag just for that occasion like #clubdolphin. For example #buytonotdie (Nah, kidding, something less dramatic :D )

Everyone who will buy 100 STEEM on the market, transfer it to Steemit, and power it up, will receive a 10% upvote from SC01 (something similar to the initiative of @steem-agora, but only for selected ones and with bigger rewards). The cost of 100 STEEM is 40 USD now, but in January it will be probably around 20 USD. 5% of the upvote from SC01, sort of refund for the powering-up STEEM is around 25% of the cost of the investment. If someone would buy 500 STEEM, they could get a 30% upvote, which is 60 USD now (maybe 30 USD in January - 30% of the cost of the refund). The upvote would have to be guaranteed, not like with all the clubs where you may or may not get the money.

The power-ups would grow rapidly. Not only all the bought STEEM would have to be frozen in SP, but as it would be the program exclusively for club5050+, at least 50% of the upvotes from the SC01 rewards will be changed into SP as well.

Sure, I'm not a big fan of paying for the power-ups, that's why I suggest that this program is limited in time and last only for a month or two, as the airbag that will prevent us from the lost related to putting on the market extra 2 million STEEM.

Tell me that it's not cancer of this platform - three words, not even smart, and the income worth as much as 100% upvote from SC01. I know there is no will to fight with bidboters, but if that won't change, the platform will not survive

That idea will work only if it will go with further improvements. I believe today we can see that bid bots are destroying this platform and should be delegalized or at least their activity should be limited. If we won't do it by setting the rules or powering down bidboters, the situation will repeat soon again. The communication with @steemitblog has to be increased too, the initiatives of the community have to be respected, the misterdelegator and SteemitInc team should skip voting on their own witnesses, finally, some improvements on the website has to be done, but about it all, we were talking before a lot. Without it, the platform is dead. To talk about the long-term problems, at first, we have to defeat the fire which is in the next room and do something with that 2 million SP that will appear on the market soon, so today let's focus on the suggestion that I described above.

I'm very curious about your opinion, especially steemitblog as well as those of you who think it's a bad idea (why?) or have any doubts (what doubts?). Let's try to figure out together if it would be a step in the right direction or if it's just the fantasy of one guy who cannot have a chance to work.
