Keep Going (PowerUp 100%)

A pleasant walk up Montmartre from the popular Paris Opera takes you past local butchers and fish mongers, a magnet for tourists, locals and photographers like me, who always appreciate nicely arranged delicacies. But don't stop there, keep going. Don't go in the corner bakery either, even after seeing another French man with a baguette in one hand and a cigarette in the other. Then just keep walking past all the posh restaurants with outdoor seating where chic ladies and gents sip champagne and have oysters.

That's not what you came here for this warm evening, oysters will be the same even years later. Unless they become extinct which we all hope will not happen including (or maybe not) those allergic to them. Anyway. Don't go in the Moulin Rouge either, there's nothing on tonight. Keep going, finding your way through a maze of cobblestone streets where every free or overpriced tour takes tourists of all ages.

And then you are arrive at the Sacre-Coeur basilica on top of the hill. A bit sweaty and out of breath as I rushed it, not wanting to miss the independent artists who perform here having this stunning view in the background. Just sit on the steps, listen to music or look at some dance moves. Here you can see anything from ballet to hip hop. Boys go around selling chilled beer for few euros. You can also spare some change to support your favourite artist this evening.

Maybe some of you reading this post have already been there and others will visit in the future.

Safe travels!
