On one of our international holidays travelling from Australia, we had an 8 hour stopover in Kuala Lumpur. Not wishing to sit around the airport for such a long period of time, we decided to catch the airport train into city central and then catch local transport to the Twin Towers. Once there, being 6am in the morning nothing was open, so we could not go up the towers. Instead, because we had heaps of time, we elected to walk back to the City Central railway station in order to get the express back to the airport.
Sometimes, things work out for the best and on our way back to the station we saw many aspects of Kuala Lumpur that we would not normally have seen.
Such as in the photographs below, where it depicts almost a clash of cultures, where old meets new. It is amazing to see the beauty of the traditional architecture in the foreground, with the new and modern in the rear. Unfortunately, as seen in the near foreground, the old is about to be squeezed by more new construction.
I hope it survives.
