snails in b-w

My entry to 'Black & White photography & art' contest, by @axeman — week #76

Last week I spent a very pleasurable time with camera and macro lens -- I shoot lichens, and also acted as a snail and caterpillar shepherd :P. Created a solid pack of images, that will took time to process later.

I could not wait to edit a few of them; in my opinion these required some black and white conversion; the dead leaves, wood, moss and lichen textures, and the snail's house itself, they all just pleaded to convert them into black and white. So, here we go. What do you think? would you choose b-w or color?

You can see one of its eye here. Can you find where is it without any hint?..
