This is part of the update to my guide on composition drawing.

With composition, you can do so many things, like tell a story, make a stand, protest, or present an event in your own way:

In some cases, you want to avoid drawing your focal point (main object) in the middle.
In the next example, I drew it to the right, and balanced it with a shadow to the left:

You can use the power of linear perspective to sketch some ideas for drawing:

When you want to draw several items, try to avoid arranging them in a line, or in any order.

Instead, draw them in different placements and use the power of overlapping:

Overlapping means an object that covers part of another object, thus creates a sense of depth.

In the next example, of a well drawing from imagination, I made sure a pole overlaps the well, and the well overlaps the other pole. That is the power of overlapping:

When drawing hands, make sure you have continuity when the hand holds an item.
You can do that by drawing the complete item and then erase the parts that are covered by the hand.

There is so much more to composition drawing.
