The Indigenous People of Mindanao, Philippines are among the minorities in the country. They are labeled as illiterate, uneducated, unsanitized and, have no direction in life.
They are commonly judged, criticize, and discriminated against for their appearance and having indigenous roots. They are often referred to as uncivilized groups as they firmly grip their hands on their tradition, culture, identity, and way of life.
For this reason, they have limited access to basic social services which leads to famine, malnutrition, severe health issues, and a high mortality rate for both the elderly and children particularly infants.
The photo showed above is a gentle reminder to many of us to express kindness to those in need. Extend helping hands for those who are suffering. Offer listening ears with a heart. Assist them in your own little way. Small treats or snacks are truly valuable to them as it gives them strength and appreciation that they also exist and they are also human like us.
