Chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes
La Capilla de Nuestra Señora de Lourdes, es una edificación religiosa de la Iglesia católica localizado en el Parque Ezequiel Zamora o El Calvario en el Municipio Libertador de Caracas, Venezuela.
The Chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes, is a religious building of the Catholic Church located in the Ezequiel Zamora Park or El Calvario in the Libertador Municipality of Caracas, Venezuela.
La capilla está rodeada de un entorno de plazas, jardines y camineras cuya última restauración fue llevada a cabo por autoridades municipales en el 2009.
The chapel is surrounded by an environment of squares, gardens and pathways whose last restoration was carried out by municipal authorities in 2009.
A Story in the Chapel
Un hecho suscitado en el siglo XX dio clausura al Templo la capilla de Nuestra Señora de Lourdes. Esta capilla ha sido objeto de saqueos y abandono, posteriormente rehabilitaciones. El cuento que se suscito; fue un encuentro sexual entre un párroco y una chica, novia, en vísperas de un casamiento que no llegó a celebrarse. Para el sacerdote, el escarnio público y las penitencias terrenales no fueron suficientes para enmendar el error de ese pecado, al parecer la culpa lo atormentaba, llevándolo a suicidarse ahorcado en la Capilla de Nuestra Señora de Lourdes, la cual fue cerrada luego de tan inescrupulosa situación, la capilla se fue a la decidía, tanto así que la cuerda con que se ahorcó el párroco se mantuvo dentro de la capilla, donde delincuentes la usaban para bromas.
An event that occurred in the twentieth century closed the Temple of the Chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes. This chapel has been the object of looting and abandonment, later renovations. The story that arose; It was a sexual encounter between a parish priest and a girl, a girlfriend, on the eve of a marriage that did not take place. For the priest, public derision and earthly penances were not enough to amend the error of that sin, apparently guilt tormented him, leading him to commit suicide by hanging in the Chapel of Our Lady of Lourdes, which was closed after so unscrupulous situation, the chapel was decided, so much so that the rope with which the parish priest hanged himself was kept inside the chapel, where criminals used it for jokes.
Al pasar del tiempo, la ciudadanía retomo la capilla. Las autoridades realizaron reparaciones y rehabilitaciones a la misma. Sin embargo en los ancianos y en parte de la colectividad queda esta historia ya casi en el olvido y muchos quienes pasan, miran al ventanal haciendo buen uso de su imaginario.
As time passed, the citizens returned to the chapel. The authorities carried out repairs and rehabilitations to it. However, in the elderly and in part of the community this story is almost forgotten and many who pass by, look at the window making good use of their imagination.
