Hello, today I will be participating for Steem Women Club 4th contest.
Who Is My Woman Idol?
Of course, everyone has an idol in life. Like his mother and sister relatives. But it is very different because I am a nationalist woman. These kinds of events also affect me. Some of us give their lives for our country and some of us do not care. This situation changes according to everything. I say that the important martyr woman of Turkish History is my idol because it is so brave for her homeland.
Who is Şerife Bacı?
The year was 1921, Şerife Bacı, who learned that the ammunition was missing in Ankara during the war, wanted to work voluntarily for this. He fought for the ammunition found in Kastamonu to be transported to Ankara and drew attention to the fact that he was 20 years old.
The old people and women set out from İnebolu to transport them to the front, along with the oxcart containing weapons and ammunition. Among the squeaky oxcart sounds, the child, the woman, the elderly, went on their way to overcome the Küre Mountains in the ice-breaking air.
How was Died?
Since the weather was freezing, the only thing he thought about was nothing to her baby in his arms and carrying the ammunition to Ankara in good condition. However, she was increasingly breaking her cold resistance. Even though he wanted to stand up and continue on the road, he collapsed because he was not exhausted. Realizing that it was late when he collapsed, Şerife Bacı took off his sweater and covered the ammunition.
Later, she clung tightly to prevent her baby from freezing and passed away. The fact that she took off her sweater and covered them in order to prevent the ammunition and her struggle to keep her baby alive in the last period of her life shows the importance of the Independence War woman.
Şerife Bacı from Kastamonu, who was martyred while carrying a gun to the front with her 9-month-old baby, became one of the symbol names of Turkish women in the War of Independence.
Şerife Bacı Monument
The statue, erected in memory of Şerife Bacı, one of the symbolic figures of the struggle of Turkish women in the War of Independence, is located in İnebolu and Seydın districts and Kastamonu.

Why?
Which of us can be like this woman in life. In this changing world, being such a devoted woman who can afford everything for her homeland requires great success. I wanted to be like this woman that night after the bad blow that happened to my country exactly 4 years ago. That was the feeling I had in my heart: I wanted to take a gun, kill the enemies without fear and resist so that no harm could come to my country.
That's when I realized that this woman was my idol.
