I went to our capital city Dhaka for three days. During this time I had the opportunity to experience Metrorail journey for the first time. When I travel in Dhaka, the most trouble I have to face is the traffic because if I want to move from one place to another, I have to get stuck in traffic for hours.
I went out with my partner in the morning to visit a museum. Since the bus journey would take a lot of time, I decided to take the metro. Thanks to the government of Bangladesh for providing metro rail to the people of Dhaka. After breakfast I reached our nearest station with my partner.
This was also my partner's first metro journey. Our journey was from Mirpur-10 to Farmgate. Although I don't know the road map of Dhaka very well, I took the help of the Google map at every step. First we had to collect our tickets after reaching the station. I collected two tickets from the counter.
There were no people at the counter, passengers were collecting tickets according to their destination through automatic machines, everything was a digitalized system, which I liked very much. According to the endurance of our journey, the fare of each ticket was 30 taka, that is, I paid 60 taka for two tickets.
The fare seemed fair to me, the tickets were like cards with a QR code and we entered the main station by punching the card. Metro Rail started in Bangladesh from August 2023. Due to this, people have benefited a lot, especially reaching the destination in less time.
However, the metro has not yet started on the entire Dhaka route and its service is closed on Fridays of the week. Passengers can take its service only from 9 am to 8 pm every day. However, we had to wait five minutes for the train to arrive. Till then we enjoyed the atmosphere of the station for a while.
So finally we started the journey but we had to finish the journey standing in the metro because there was a lot of crowd of passengers there. Due to the overpopulation of our country, there is some crowding everywhere. But I loved taking the metro for the first time with my partner and it will be memorable for us.
We actually set out to visit a military museum. We got off the metro and went to the museum and had a great experience there. Enjoyed some great scenery in the underground section there. After about three attempts we were able to take pictures with the whale.
There we saw several things of the Bangladesh arm force which were for the first time for us and I will share them in my upcoming travel blog. After the museum tour, I went to a nice restaurant with my partner to have some good food. I ordered a chicken roll and a hot coffee as per my partner's demand.
After ordering food we had to wait for a while. We certainly spent some good times during this time. Although the taste of the food was quite good, we liked the interior decoration of the restaurant.
Then we returned back to the previous metro station to reach our home destination. But at that time due to the error in the server it was difficult for us to get the ticket and after standing in a long queue we managed to get the ticket. Finally, we returned to our desired home destination.
