This trip happened last 2019 when the CoViD-19 has not yet infected the world.

Olango Island in Cebu Philippines is a humble developing island that gave access to relaxation of the people from the city. It is just a 30 minute boat ride from the mainland of Lapu-Lapu Cebu. Here is the link incase you want to visit the island : https://goo.gl/maps/BG7xLayWDo1U865CA

This is the first trip of me and my friends since we worked first time after our graduation. So this trip became extra special because we transitioned from college students to full time teachers and we have a lot of stories to tell.

We went to San Vicente Marine Sanctuary, this is a famous place in this island because aside from their crystal clear water, you can also swim with the fish because they preserve marine lives here. Here is the link of this place : https://goo.gl/maps/WrcufVXQKMfcFp1w8

In order for us to have a light-travel (travelling with light load), we opted to visit a small store around the area and bought our food from this small store that was managed by young entrepreneurs. As we had a conversation with them, they are high school students who wants to help their parents that is why they set up the store. They sell foods like boiled egg, sunny side up egg, chicken, pansit , lumpia , bread & pastries and many more. We are very happy to help them in their noble cause by buying their products, as they say, #SupportLocal .

I took a lot of photos in this place because I want to keep this trip in my memory and in picture. Aside from taking self portraits, we also took photos underwater, here are some of our cute pictures :)

Oh and let's not forget our swim with the fish.

Finally it's night time, my favorite part of this trip. San Vicente Marine Sanctuary also allows overnight stay in their beach with campfire. This is the most memorable part of the trip for me because at this time we share different stories and life lessons.

At this time we played the song Fix You by Coldplay and as the lyrics goes...

When you try your best, but you don't succeed
When you get what you want but not what you need
When you feel so tired, but you can't sleep
Stuck in reverse

I felt a rush of mix feelings disappointment to myself. When I graduated in college I think that my life is already figured out, I am thinking of the ideal things in life, that after college I get what I want and be successful. But all became the opposite, I find it hard to adjust at work and I sucked at it. I often make mistakes and I cried a lot, questioning my existence.

But....

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

When this part of this song came up, I am awakened of the facts that everything will have it's right time that I am allowed to make mistakes most especially that I am still a beginner. That there are lights that will guide and fix me in life and this light are my family and friends.

Life can be tricky sometimes, it will make us believe that we cannot do it, that we are worthless. But let's not let this put us to a stop, we should keep moving forward and let the light guide us home.

That's all for today, again thank you so much @olga.maslievich for this contest I get to reminisce some of my trips, more power. I would like to invite my friends, @aprilmaireyuan @umme and @umbayangelica12 to join this contest.
