In general, a user earns two types of rewards in Steem Blockchain:-

  • Task-Based(PoB)
  • Stake Based(interests for Vested Token Holders(SP)

The PoB reward pool is Task-Based and tasks are:-

  • Publishing Content
  • Engaging with the Content & Curating it, helping in Content Discovery.

Author Reward(creating content) & Curation Reward(voting others) comes under Proof-of-Brain(which is 65% of the reward pool), Interest Rate comes under the pool of Vested Token Holders(which is 15% of the reward pool).

Further, all the users earn TRX rewards @1SP:1TRX.

So in general there are four types of rewards for a user in Steem Blockchain:-

  • Author SBD
  • Author SP
  • Curation SP
  • TRX Rewards

In the existing framework set out by Steemit, the main focus is on 3R's- Recruitment, Reward, Retention. Therefore, the Country Representatives(CRs) are pivotal to the existing framework and they are rewarded based on the proof-of-dedication.

But wait, it is not the CRs who are earning handsome amounts in Steem Blockchain, rather if you observe the trend in 2021 particularly with the concept like Crypto Academy, the students, a common man has made it possible to earn at par with a CR, maybe even better than that.

Then let's see how much the users(all-- CRs, MOD, Prof, students, etc) earn on a monthly basis. I have collected the data for the month of July'2021 to produce this report. I hope it will testify that anyone with hard work and untiring perseverance can win and earn a handsome amount by participating in Steemit led initiatives.

Please note that this report has been prepared by taking into account organic curation and earning(in Steemit led initiatives/challenges or anything that is supported by @steemcurator01), those who use bid bot to project a better earning are excluded from this list.

Note:-
(1) The debt ratio is sufficiently below 9%, that is why the reward is in SBD+SP.
(2) Earning through Posts+Comments means all those Posts+Comments that generated earning.

Observation

  • Even a general user like @beckie96830(Rank-5) features in the top 10 highest paid authors in July 2021. That disentangles the myth that "only CRs or MODs earn in Steemit". You can still earn lucrative rewards should you go with hard work & dedication.

  • Out of the top 100 highest paid authors (July 2021) 55 are general users, commoners, do not hold any distinction or position. That testifies that anyone can win in Steemit led initiatives/challenges.

  • The average earning in the top tier(top 100) stands at 868.67 USD (with the highest being 2278 USD and the lowest being 572 USD).

  • With the average SBD/STEEM ratio(in 2021), most of the rewards are liquid, with SBD+TRX it is more than 80% of the total reward. In other words, you are getting more than 80% of your payout in liquid rewards and less than 20% as staked rewards(SP).

Conclusion

The market always goes through transformations(bull to bear cycle and bear to bull cycles), but a Blockchain always scales height. So the market does affect the earning potential of a user as well, particularly when we establish a range. The act of social Blogging should always follow the legacy of a Blockchain(which only scales height). That's how we can improve the overall state of this ecosystem.

Notwithstanding the fluctuating/volatile crypto market, which at times induces uncertainty(equally creates opportunity), the current framework/setup of strengthening 3Rs should be an objective of each individual. An average earning of 868.67 USD is a lucrative salary in many developing/under-developed countries. We have come a long way considering the reset/start in 2020, from here on we just need to make sure that we hold our ground, establish the threshold, and must improve/upgrade it on a Year of Year basis.

Thank you.
