How do I set up my Tron account in Steemitwallet & redeem TRX rewards?

With the recent development, now the Steem users can earn an extra reward(in TRX) on top of what Steem Blockchain is programmed to pay the various actors.

Who will earn TRX rewards now in Steem Blockchain?

• Authors(If they set their post payout 100% Power Up, they can earn more TRX reward as compared to 50/50 post payout)
• Curators
• Witnesses
• Vested Token Holders(SP Holders, as they earn 15% of reward pool as interest)

This publication will be a tutorial on how to set up your Tron account in Steemit Wallet and how to redeem TRX rewards.

Create a fresh Tron account in Steemitwallet.com

Login to Steemit Wallet(Steemitwallet.com)

• Go to steemitwallet.com. Click on Login (top right corner).
• Enter your Steem Username and Private Posting Key, click on the "Login".

• Once you land in your wallet section, scroll down, you find a new row "TRX" in your wallet section now, there is a link "Create TRON Account". Click on that.

• A pop-up will appear asking you "Do you agree to create a TRON account and download the PDF with your TRON public and private keys?". Click on Agree.

• A PDF file containing the Public Key and Private Key will be automatically downloaded. Keep that in a safe place off-line. The best practice is to take print of it. Don't reveal your private key to anyone, that should always remain a secret.

How do I claim TRX Reward?

• Go to your wallet section(assuming you are already logged in to Steemitwallet using your Private Posting Key).

• Any "Rewards" to claim will be displayed at the top, click on "Redeem Rewards".

• Voila! Your rewards are added to your Balance.

You will now basically see SBD, SP, and TRX as the Available Rewards to claim. Upon clicking "Redeem Rewards", it will automatically be added to your respective balances in the wallet section.

Important Note- All the balances are added to the wallet on-chain, so if you lose your key of the Tron account, then you won't be able to use that balance, however, you can create a new account by clicking on "Update Your Account". Then click on "Update & Download". And it will download a PDF file containing your Private & Public Key. Keep that in a safe place.

You can transfer the TRX Balance to another Steem user, you can vote using this fund & participate in Tron ecosystem, you can also trade it in Poloniex.

Note- It might not work if you log in via Steem Keychain, so you should try logging in manually with your Private Posting Key. And you will be fine with setting up your Tron account in Steemitwallet.
