As a designer I spend a lot of time studying different epochs designs and fashions, I study historical differences in interior. I constantly go to museums, galleries and other cultural places. I get inspired by descriptions of interior in the books, magazines.
Interior in Ancient Rome
Ancient Romans always liked luxurious and spacious interior. They based their style on luxury, abundance, and beauty.
The floor in Ancient Roman empire was mosaic or made of marble.
If we watch attentively to the walls of Ancient cities of Rome. The houses inside had walls that were decorated with beautiful colourful drawings.
We can also notice that such animals as lions, eagles and other strong animals and plants prevail the decorative features of romans homes.
The big significance the pay to the details. Every element of furniture had to be decorated with different ornaments, incrustations or metal elements. Unfortunately, nowadays we can't see the wooden furniture of that period but we can see the furniture made from other materials such as marble or stones.
