A Tip From This Hot Homesteadin' Mama to Help You Beat the Heat!

Stand outside on any given day between February and October - after 30 seconds it is a true possibility you might think you have been set on fire!

You might have read that quote in one of my post from earlier this week, when I think of yellow on the homestead. So it is known that where I live is extremely hot!!

To combat this heat I have been using a little trick that I thought might help you!

I simply wrap a washcloth around a standard ice pack and then fasten it to my head with my hat. This particular hat is my FAVORITE since I can still rock that messy mom bun while providing shade to my face, neck and shoulders. It also has a fancy string so I can hang it up right by the door for easy access on those frequent trips outside.

The icepack is fantastic at bringing your core temp down since a lot of heat is released through your head. Also, for those really hot days you can unwrap the icepack and use that nice- ice- cold washcloth to wipe the sweat off your face! It keeps the temps a little more bearable here on our homestead.

Hope this tip helps you beat the heat and stay a little safer during the hot months- whenever yours may be!
