Homesteading Challenge Submission - Helpful Resources

This is my entry to @kiaraantonoviche's Homesteading Challenge.

I am still in the "dreaming and planning and shifting and learning" phase of my tiny house homestead dreams, but this challenge doesn't require me to already have a house or a forest to tend or a herd of chickens like @lyndsaybowes . 😉 It just asks me what my favorite knowledge resource about homesteading is!

For me, that's my collection of Mother Earth News.

This magazine is an excellent resource for the dream-plan stage, and I imagine I'll be pulling them for reference once I have a physical homestead too, which is why they have survived the purging done so far to downsize into a tiny house.

They cover so many different topics, I am exposed to different facets of homesteading, ideas, plans, obstacles, and options than if I had just relied on my imagination, and it has made me better prepared, I think.

Of course, books are one of the hardest things for me to purge, and though these are magazines, they count as reference books to me. ☺

lots of them

And I hope you appreciate the effort it took to get photos for this post, because that crate is in the back of the bottom of the cupboard desk turned bookshelf, and now I have to play Tetris to put it back together.

Oh well. I saw a few more books in here I was ready to purge, so might as well pull them now!

Told ya books are hard for me to downsize.

This is one of three bookshelves. 😁

Off I go to play Tetris now!
