Step right up!
Step right up!
Let me bring to the forefront a man who goes by the username @rodeo670.
This dude is just SOMETHING ELSE
What a good duderino he is indeed.
But no need for me to tell you, I'll let him tell you himself!
ENJOY!
Just before we start, I am going to give you a bit of background info on Humans Of Steemit!
Humans Of Steemit showcases YOU.
Show who you are.
Get down to the nitty gritty of your entire being.
Steemit would not be here if it weren’t for you.
Steemit would not be good if it weren’t for you.
Recently, there has been a lot of speculation on the automatism (our beloved and not so beloved bot friends), being on here purely for monetary gains and where the humanity is missing on Steemit.
So let’s set that aside and show the humanity here. The people. You. We. Us.
There are two aspects to Humans Of Steemit!
A Q&A and Fun Crazy Steemit Thing!
Q&A
A Q&A to dive deep into the souls of the Humans Of Steemit!
The questions are designed to unearth the real Steemian beneath the username and avatar.
To show you the realest real they are.
From silly to serious to funny to deep.
All the Q's are in there.
Fun Crazy Steemit Thing
is the space in which you can totally let go and be YOURSELF.
Show who you are.
Whether that’s a crazy dance video of you doing your ‘I am drunk and have no idea what I am doing but I am enjoying myself dance’ or you singing at your best to your fave karoake tune or a drawing of you looking all peaceful and wonderful or the best photo you ever took or ANYTHING!
As long as it is YOURS.
As long as it represents YOU!
Plus the deal is that 50% of the SBD from this post (after payout) is transferred to the Human Of Steemit that is featured! I get to keep the SP for organizing this, putting it all together and whatnot! And the other 50% of the SBD goes to people who are helping out with this project!
Whoop whoop!
Exciting stuff right?
So let's get right to it!
Q&A
Who are you? Tell us anything and everything you'd like us to know about you! |
---|
Oh wow. This is a really open-ended question! I guess...to simplify things, my "bottom line" answer would be that I am a small-town island boy with a big heart who loves the Electronic Dance Music culture and loves to help my friends out whenever I can. I'm a military veteran as well, but I don't really flaunt that around. I love to sing, I love to write, I love the great outdoors, and I love snowboarding! I have big dreams for the future and I want to change the world for the better. The only reason I'd ever want to be rich is so that I can afford to throw money at my friends to help them get closer to achieving their goals in life and make their dreams a reality.
What makes your heart smile? |
---|
The kindness of humanity. I am deeply moved by random acts of kindness that really shine a light on this eternal truth that as human beings, what we truly desire the most in life is to see each other succeeding and being happy. Far too often the narrative put out by the media we are exposed to is this false notion that we are all out to get each other, and that we have this "every man for himself" mentality...but if you look at it, those with the least to give, are most often the ones who give so freely and openly to those who they think need it more.

How did you get onto Steemit? |
---|
My facebook friend @stevenalexander started making posts about it on Facebook, and one day he posted his #introduceyourself post and I was bored on Facebook so I decided to click on the link and read his story. It was so fascinating to me that I decided to make an account myself. I forgot about Steemit for a while, until I decided to check my email and saw that my account had been approved one day. I browsed around for a while before I finally decided to set up my account and start posting things. I've only just started my third month of being active on the platform.
Where do you want to die? |
---|
On my home island of Saipan. I was born and raised there, and that is where I imagine I'd be laid to my final rest from this mortal coil.
What’s something you DON’T like about all this new technology? |
---|
The fact that instead of making us more interconnected to each other as humam beings, it's had this adverse effect of actually isolating us from each other more than ever. Yes, we are connected to each other through screens that bridge vast distances between us all, but it has robbed us of our ability to relate to each other on a more human, personal level.
What mistake do you keep making and why? |
---|
I used to keep making the mistake of trusting the wrong people with my love and care. I got taken advantage of a lot because of that, until a tragic end to what I thought was a real friendship, earlier this year. That was the final nail in the coffin, so the speak, that taught me this really hard life lesson that as much as I would love to be there for everyone and give everyone my all, sometimes there are just rotten individuals in this world who don't deserve all my love and care like that.
Is there anything you wish you could unlearn? |
---|
I wish I could unlearn this deep-seated notion that we "need to be more realistic" in life. I'm slowly overcoming an entire life's worth of that false programming, but it's taking much longer than I'd like it to. I personally believe that as human beings, we are beings of infinite potential and we can achieve anything we set our hearts and minds to and fully commit 100% of ourselves to. But with that said, sometimes the limiting beliefs creep in and prevent me from actualizing everything that I dream of making a reality.
If there was something you could un-do, what would it be? |
---|
I wish I could un-do the moment when, in a stupid teenage fit of rage, I stormed away from my mother's room after she had denied me a request that I had really wanted to do (honestly I don't even remember what it was anymore, it was such a long time ago), and yelled "fucking bitch!" as I walked back to my room. I think I was in the 7th or 8th grade at the time. My mother is truly my biggest hero in life who has always been there for me no matter what and has always rescued me whenever my poor choices in life managed to land me in tight spots. That moment in my life is something that I truly and deeply look back on with sadness because of how stupid I was as a kid, only thinking of my self and what I wanted in life.
Imagine that you magically have the ability to keep being alive without sleep, what would you do with the extra time? |
---|
I would read more books and listen to more audiobooks and podcasts, and truly focus on self-development as much as possible. I already do that to an extent, but man, there simply isn't enough time in a the day during my waking life for me to truly optimize personal development the way that I would like to.
What’s the stupidest thing you’ve done that actually turned out pretty well? |
---|
I joined the military after graduating from high school. I say that now, because of what I know about the true purpose of our military and what we are actually doing when we go off to war, and how we veterans are treated after we come home from our service to our country. It turned out pretty well because of all the important life lessons that I learned while I was in, how much I truly grew up and matured, and all of the lifelong friends I made who I know will always have my back no matter what. I would not change my experience for the world, because everything I experienced while I was in, contributed to who I am today and set me on this path.
What makes your belly ache with laughter? |
---|
Sharp, witty remarks and British comedy. I really love The IT Crowd and can't stop laughing once I've sat down and started watching an episode.
Tell us about 1 significant event in your life that really made you who you are. |
---|
I would have to say it was my whole experience at the Electric Daisy Carnival in Las Vegas earlier this year. I met some amazing people who I will always consider part of my soul family, who set me on the trajectory that I have been on in my life ever since then. It was my experience at EDC Las vegas that reminded me to love myself, that I was someone worth loving, and that I am actually a pretty damn good looking guy (lol). Since then, I've been riding this wave of self-confidence and self-love and I have been attracting people into my life who are helping me to become a better person. It has allowed me to truly heal a lot of the damage that my time in the military did to me, all of the PTSD and mental and emotional roadblocks that kept me from truly moving forward in life. The Universe really worked miracles for me at EDC and it has continued to do so with every other festival I've been to since then.
What would be the scariest monster you could imagine? |
---|
A monster that eats your dreams and makes you into a soulless automaton, living out your existence as a mindless battery powering a societal system that thrives off of your grind. Oh wait... ;)
What does Steemit mean for you? |
---|
Steemit, to me, is an absolute life-changer. Whereas most people will see it as merely a way to make money for posting and doing social media things, I can tell you right now that it's so much more than that to me. Steemit has changed my life in so many ways, and so drastically, that I can only describe it as nothing short of a Godsend. Not only am I finally making some money for the content that I produce, but I am meeting some amazing people and making new friends, while also sharing the wonders of Steemit with my other creative friends and bringing them to the platform so that they can experience the magic of Steemit for themselves. I am also making so many amazing connections through Steemit and networking and meeting people who I can work with to build new things and embark on new ventures with. It's all hella exciting! The Gospel of Steemit is such a powerfully transformative message, and I want to spread it as far and wide as I possibly can so that I can help as many other people find true success on here as well.
If you could change your name, what would you change it to? |
---|
I've always been partial to Joshua or Jacob for some reason, I don't know why. Michael, too. Basic af, I know :P If we're going for a name that is less basic and more "exotic," though, I'd choose to be renamed to Kazuhiro because that's the coolest Japanese name ever and I've always loved it too.
Which person inspires you the most and why do they inspire you? |
---|
My best friend TJ, who is TEN years younger than me. He inspires me because of how collected he seems despite being so young, and how determined he is to be successful in life. He knows what he needs to do to get to where he needs to be, and that's lightyears ahead of where my head was at when I was his age. I wish I had that kind of mentality when I was that young! Just by being himself, he inspires me daily to strive to be a better person than I was yesterday. He and I are going to take the world by storm someday, just you wait and see...
What are you insecure about? |
---|
Despite all the progress I have made mentally and emotionally over the past year, I think a part of me is still insecure about this idea that maybe everyone is just being nice to me because they feel sorry for me, that they don't actually mean all the support and love that they shower me with, etc. I'm still waiting for that part of myself to fully heal and resolve, because I know it's super unhealthy to always be worrying about that. It's important to just let people be who they are and accept the person that they present to you, without letting your past experiences with other people shape what you think might be their true motives in life.
Describe your ideal life. |
---|
I would be living back home on Saipan, preferably on a beachfront home, where I can just live off the land and set up a self-sustaining system and help other people do the same. I wish for a return to living in harmony with the land and a return to our native Chamorro culture and spirituality. In my ideal life, all of my closest friends would also have moved from the mainland USA to Saipan and we would all just be living in this huge self-sustaining community, helping each other in every way we can and utilizing all of our best talents and abilities to work together in perfect synergy for optimal shared success.
Have you ever saved someone’s life? |
---|
I wouldn't ever credit myself with such a huge feat, because I personally believe that in the end, we are the only ones who can truly save ourselves. I can do things to set certain events or thought patterns in motion, which could lead to someone choosing to save themselves, but I don't think it was ever me personally who has saved anyone. I have spent the long hours talking to people over the phone and over chat trying to convince them to continue living when they had believed that all was lost and the only solution was to end their lives, for sure. But like I said, in the end, each and every one of them made the personal decision themselves to keep on living, to strive for a better tomorrow. That's on them, I simply helped nudge them in the right direction.
What do other people think is weird about you? |
---|
Probably the fact that I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. An initial look at me would never give such an impression, lol. Everyone is so shocked when they find out that little fact about me.
What do you think is one of the best things about you? |
---|
My altruistic nature and my deep desire to heal the world and make it a better place...wait, that reminds me of a song that I heard all the time when i was a kid... :P
What’s one responsibility you really wish you didn’t have? |
---|
Being a "proper" adult and having to work for someone to make ends meet and pay rent and bills, etc.
If you had a personal flag, what would be on it? |
---|
The island of Saipan in the center, on top of the seal of the U.S. Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, encased in a heart, surronded by a bunch of my favorite EDM artists' logos and the symbols of bitcoin, STEEM, and a bunch of other cryptocurrencies that I'm invested in, with the words "You Vibe Attracts Your Tribe" along the bottom.
If a genie granted you 3 wishes right now, what would you wish for? |
---|
My first wish would be for everyone in the world to experience true prosperity, abundance, and success in life. My second wish would be for the mindset of "the other" to be removed from all our heads, so that we would start to see each other as truly one human family, and we could live from a mentality of "I am you and you are me, what I do to you affects me directly because we are one." My third wish would be to have the ability to time travel and teleport to anywhere and anywhen I desire at any given moment so that I could experience the true history of humanity and this planet for myself and get the fully unbiased truth, as well as get a glimpse into the endless possible futures that we could choose to manifest into our reality.
What do you think about when you’re by yourself? |
---|
I think about how I can better myself and get myself to a place in life where I can help other people succeed and grow as well.
What would you want to be written on your tombstone? |
---|
He was a caring and loving individual whose deepest desire in life was to see the world transformed into a better place. May all his efforts inspire us to strive to keep that better world and make sure that we never return to the ways of old when we kept on repeating the mistakes of history that kept us in shackles.
Who is the person you trust most? |
---|
Myself. I trust my intuition, my "higher self," whatever you want to call it, because it has never led me astray in life. Every time I have followed my intuition and listened to the little nudges, things have worked out phenomenally for me. Every time I have ignored those little nudges and decided not to listen to my intuition, things have gone horribly wrong in my life. But even when I have done that and things have gone wrong, I always ended up going through an experience in life that helped me to grow further as a person, so it's not always a completely bad experience.
What's your favourite word? |
---|
"NANI?!?" which means "WHAT?!?" in Japanese. :P It's just a lot of fun to say, haha.
Who is your fave (or one of your favourite) Steemians and why? |
---|
My favorite Steemian would probably have to be @jrswab, because he was one of the first friends that I made on Steemit through our membership in the Minnow Support Project, and he has always given me such great advice with blogging (he has been blogging for over 10 years!). His posts are always such a huge learning experience for me, and I really appreciate how he gives his knowledge away so freely in the hopes that his 10+ years of experience with blogging will help people succeed on Steemit without making the same mistakes that he has made over the years.
If you were arrested with no explanation, what would your friends and family assume you had done? |
---|
Before, I would have had to answer this question with "drug possession or dealing," but now, with how much "success" I've been experiencing in the cryptosphere, they'd probably assume I had been involved in some shady crypto money laundering operation or something, haha!
When you looked in the mirror first thing this morning, what was the first thing you thought? |
---|
"Damn, sexy! I love you!" I do it every day because I truly believe it now. I didn't start believing it until after I came back from EDC, but that mentality has stuck with me ever since then and I truly love myself now and truly believe that I am a damn good looking guy. /ego :P
What’s the most ridiculous fact you know? |
---|
I don't know, actually...I guess...I'm such a huge geek and I really love Doctor Who, so maybe the most ridiculous fact I know is actually a series of facts, like...an Adipose is living fat that was activated by a pill marketed stealthily by an alien race that promotes weight loss with the tag line "The fat just walks away..." or that Raxacoricofallapatorians are gasseous alien beings that kill humans and wear their skins and pretend to be one of us...or even the fact that there was a reptilian species that inhabited the earth before the dawn of humanity, and when we came about, they were forced to live underground. Yes, these are totally facts. I don't care if they don't align with your reality! :P The Doctor is REAL, dammit!
What is something that you just recently realized that you are embarrassed you didn’t realize earlier? |
---|
That r0nd0n's MSP Waves radio show is called "Freeze Peach Radio" becaue it's a play on words and actually means "Free Speech Radio" haha
What is your nickname? |
---|
I don't really have a nickname these days, but I suppose I could answer this question with my "rave name," which is KAOZ.
What is your biggest regret in life? |
---|
I love to say that I have no regrets, because everything that's happened to me over the course of my life has shaped me into the man I am today, and I truly love the man I am today. I'm not perfect and still suffer from many flaws, but I am working on improving myself on a daily basis and I love myself for that. But if I had to choose one thing as my biggest regret in life, it's that I foolishly spent all $100 worth of bitcoin that I had back in 2011, when I had bought in for about $10 a coin. Oh yes, I have a bitcoin sob story...you see, back then, when I first discovered Bitcoin, I just knew it was going to explode someday. I knew it was the future. I was very passionate about it and I told all my friends and as many people as I could that they should buy into it and invest in it...but everyone kinda just laughed at me and shrugged me off and didn't really believe me or believe in Bitcoin like I did back then. So I got discouraged and spent it all like a dumbass. Fast forward to today, where Bitcoin has hit an ATH of $14,862...damn, that hurts so much! So that would be my biggest regret in life.
But like I said, everything happens for a reason, right? I'm right where I need to be in life right now, and I am fine with that. I still love who I am today even though younger me was a dumbass and didn't stay holding on to my conviction about Bitcoin. But the good news is...the way I felt about Bitcoin back then, that same knowingness that it would explode and change lives...that's exactly how I've felt about Steemit/STEEM ever since I first found out about it and really started to learn more about it. I think the Universe has given me a second chance, and this time around I plan on seizing that opportunity and making sure that I stay true to my convictions. It certainly helps now that everyone is hearing more and more about cryptocurrencies and so I have more of an air of believability when I tell people about it now than I did back then. My Facebook inbox has been blowing up on a daily basis with all my friends coming to me asking me for help with getting started with Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies, as well as Steemit. Including the very same people who laughed at me back in 2011. :)
As a Human Of Steemit, how do you contribute to Steemit? |
---|
I actively try to bring people onto Steemit and also into the Minnow Support Project so that they can get started off on the right foot and cultivate a proper mentality for true success, instead of just coming here with a "where's my money, why aren't my posts being seen" type of mentality. I just recently got "promoted" to the status/role of Greeter over at MSP, so I've been saying hi to all the new faces we've been getting, and it's pretty cool to be a part of a new Steemit user's first dive into a real community! I also recently got into curation after understanding the true importance of curators on this platform, and I got invited to be a curator for @muxxybot. I feel really good about being a part of that aspect of Steemit and helping people's undervalued posts gain some visibility and earnings.
