How long has the FBI been subverted, Part One (My own Deep State Theory)(The Mafia?)

Yesterday, I ran out of gas quickly while working on How long has the Left controlled the FBI? Let's start looking for evidence.. I was so tired that when I went to the bathroom to throw my socks in the hamper and take a leak...I threw my socks in the toilet. I'm just glad I stopped there ;>

Looking at that post, I can see a lot that needs to be fixed.

The question is going to be, How long has the FBI been an instrument of the Deep State?

I'm not going to be able to answer the question, What is the Deep State?

There are just too many variables for a definite answer. We know, for a fact, that the latest crimes have been committed by a conspiracy that protected Clinton from charges and attempted to subvert the 2016 Presidential elections.

We can look at other things the FBI has done since then, and use a timeline to weigh actions against the alliances we know existed at the time.

It appears that the latest conspiracy is leftist/Democratic Party oriented, but we will need to dig deeper than that. Of course, that does point at the possibility that Leftism is a prime mover of the Deep State, but that does ignore indicators of corruption influenced by banking interests. It also excludes the subversion and/or corruption of the Republican Party.

The Overview

I'll give you my theory on the Deep State as it stands today...
The Deep State has been primarily a banking conspiracy throughout our country's history...while it did have power, it did not attempt to control everything; it also did not attempt control of the media overall.

Developments in propaganda/psy ops/information war began to interest members of the Deep State. Media outlets (primarily newspapers and the publishing industry) started getting bought out in the early 20th century. Some of the darker possibilities (population reduction and control) start appearing in conspiracy theory at this time. Other members of Steemit explore these possibilities better than I do.

There is a connection between leftist movements and the Deep State I do not understand. I do not think that Leftism is a creation of the Deep State, although I can understand the theory that people assert along those lines (especially Marx's business connections).

In my opinion, Deep State subversion of the security community starts slightly before WWII, with FDR. This process intensifies after WWII. My best guesses at this time are:

  • The Justice and State Departments get infiltrated during FDR's administration
  • The CIA and DOD right after WWII; the subversion of the CIA is completed after the Church Committee
  • The FBI after Hoover's death, and the doors open wide to corruption after the Church Committee

Some egghead theories to think about while we look at events and possible causes.

  • Shit Happens
As long as the possibility that an event can be ascribed to be a mistake, people will use a mistake as a reason for a hostile event....because that event could be an accident.

  • False dichotomies (binary thinking)
There are two things to consider here
-There can be multiple causes for an event.
-Most things do not have an either/or explanation

  • Organizational Growth
These are very related theories; all come to the point that organizations eventually work to protect the interest of the organization...not the job the organization was created to do. This is different than corruption or subversion influences.
    1)Growth Complex
    2)Bureaucratic Politics
    3)Iron Law of Bureaucracy

  • Baptists and Bootleggers
This refers to the tendencies of rent-seekers (the corrupt) and do-gooders to align politically to subvert the rule of law. The degradation of the 3rd and 4th Amendments begins with Prohibition.

Rent-seeking refers to processes that provide accumulation of profit from other people's capital and work. The term do-gooding has little to do with the actual performance of acts that create good results, but instead refers to processes with have the appearance of doing good and building personal social capital on that appearance.
Human Goverance and Critical Thinking, Conclusion

  • Robert Conquest’s Three Laws of Politics
Conquest studied the genocide of Russians and Ukrainians under leftist rule. I refer to his 2nd and 3rd laws.
-Second Law: Any organization not explicitly right-wing sooner or later becomes left-wing.
-Third Law: The simplest way to explain the behavior of any bureaucratic organization is to assume that it is controlled by a cabal of its enemies.

We can knock some variables off the table...La Cosa Nostra (The Mafia)

In the first installment, I noted the possibility that the Mafia may be part of the Deep State. I don't think so, but let's dig in and make sure.

It is a fact that there are connections between politicians/burrocrats and mafia organizations:

  • FDR's deal with the mafia to safeguard our Atlantic ports during WWII
  • CIA use of mafioso to attempt assassination of Castro (my own take is that CIA attempts to eliminate Castro were so Keystone Cop tier, that they must have been sandbagging it)
  • Corruption in general

Unquestionably, the most dangerous of Costello’s activities was his subtle infiltration of important government institutions through his influence in the city’s Democratic Party.
Raab

The question comes up about Mafia control over the FBI. Raab's arguments fit into my own understanding of Hoover's hands-off approach to organized crime

Hoover’s reluctance to seriously challenge the Mafia stemmed from three main factors, according to former FBI agents and criminal-justice researchers. First was his distaste for long, frustrating investigations that more often than not would end with limited success. Second was his concern that mobsters had the money to corrupt agents and undermine the bureau’s impeccable reputation. And third, Hoover was aware that the Mob’s growing financial and political strength could buy off susceptible congressmen and senators who might trim his budget. Armed with the FBI’s glowing public reputation and with his bureaucratic skills, Hoover had a free hand in choosing his investigative priorities. The only official who challenged his assertion that a dangerous Italian-American crime organization did not exist was rival law-enforcement expert Harry J. Anslinger, the director of the Federal Bureau of Narcotics.

Evan after Apalachin (the big mob meeting that was broken up by local police, and that exposed the mafia to the nation), Hoover did not pursue the mob fully...

Hoover reluctantly began to attack it. Yet in Hoover’s FBI, statistics, not quality of cases, demonstrated success. “Back then, the FBI still had this nonsense that all cases are equal,” says Dan Reilly, an agent who worked organized crime in New York. “If you caught two hubcap thieves, it was better than catching Bernie Madoff. Also the FBI had a lot of rough, tough ex-military guys. Their theory was that if anybody robs with a fountain pen, they’re kind of a sissy. They liked armored-car robbers, bank robbers, kidnappers. Even within the New York FBI office, in the late 1960s, going after the Mafia was considered junk work.”

There is the argument that Hoover was blackmailed by the mafia with pictures of crossdressing and proof of homosexuality (the question of Hoover's deep friendship with Tolson). I think that this bullshit propaganda...here is why:

  • The source for this comes from one woman, Susan Rosenstiel, married to a man who was prosecuted by FBI work, and who had a mafia connection, although not mafia himself
  • In depth from The Straight Dope and discussion
  • Beginning in the 1950s, the FBI regularly assigned agents from the Washington field office to discreetly follow Hoover and Tolson as a security precaution. R. Jean Gray, one of the agents assigned to what was called HOOWATCH, says the surveillance consisted of agents in two bureau cars who would tail Hoover and Tolson as they left the Justice Department at the end of the day. While the two knew that agents watched over them, they usually did not spot them. “We followed them to Harvey’s or to the Mayflower, where they had dinner,” Gray says. “Then we took them to Tolson’s apartment on Cathedral Avenue, where Tolson got out. Then we went to Hoover’s home. We stayed overnight. The next morning, agents would follow Hoover as he picked up Tolson and went through Rock Creek Park and down Constitution Avenue to the Justice Department,” Gray says. “We speculated about Edgar and Clyde,” Gray says. “But if anything scandalous had happened with the director, it would have gone coast to coast within the bureau in thirty minutes.”
    Kessler

  • These pictures/evidence never surfaced...Not after Hoover's death...Not after Costello's death (the mobster, not the comedian).
  • I have read several in-depth biographies of Hoover; none point to any evidence of this at all, solely that the rumor itself was spread, and that Hoover and Tolson were close.
  • Kessler's opinion about Hoover's sexuality was that he was prudish, that he was a perfectionist, that he was unduly influenced and that he divided women into "good time girls" and "women you marry", and there really was no one he'd put in that second category

I'll add to this that he was very devoted to his mother up until her death.

Overall, while I'm not an expert on La Cosa Nostra, I think that they are too decentralized and suspicious of each other to form a component of the Deep State. While their gunman, political connections, and tools of corruption have been used in Deep State ops, I don't see them taking any part in forming policy.

There is something going on; Our task is to detail this with as much accuracy and reliability as we can

I can't tell you that MacDonald's interpretation of history was correct, but he did see something!

Over the course of this series, I will be repeating a great deal of material, especially as I expand the timeline.
