[Interview] Dan Larimer - A Prescient Retrospective - Part 3 of 3

On April 3rd, 2015, Cryptofresh Pictures had the chance to interview Dan Larimer at the Bitshares headquarters in Blacksburg, Virginia.

While some of the footage from that interview was included in the original Bitshares Peer To Peer Tour Video, the rest has not been seen, until now.

If you missed it, you can see Part 1 of this interview here:

...and Part 2 here:

[Interview] Dan Larimer - A Prescient Retrospective - Part 2 of 3

In a wide-ranging and forward-thinking interview, Dan Larimer gives us some insight into his personal philosophy, as well as his perspectives on the many issues, possibilities, and opportunities confronting those within the cryptocurrency space, and the whole of society.

In Part 3 - We ask @dantheman these questions:

  • Under what scenario do you see blockchain technology going mainstream?
  • What other types of DAC's (Decentralized Autonomous Companies) do you feel are important, beyond the decentralized exchange?
  • What are your thoughts on AI, Singularity, Skynet DAC?

To many on Steemit, @dan, or @dantheman, needs no introduction.

Dan Larimer is the co-founder, and lead developer of several second generation cryptocurrencies including Bitshares, Steem, and is currently leading the development of the EOS blockchain as CTO of BlockOne.

Commentary:

This concludes the long awaited, almost lost to time, interview with Dan Larimer.

I hope you all have enjoyed this glimpse into the mind of Dan; the motivations, and insights he was able to share with us over two years ago. I hope to bring you all a more current interview with Dan, and other innovators in the cryptocurrency space soon!

Thanks for supporting my work. When this was filmed, Steem was but a dream, unknown to me. Who would have thought at that time we would be able to post this interview here and be rewarded for all the time and effort expended to capture this interview. For those of you who haven't seen it... while it is somewhat dated, here's a link to the mini-documentary known as the Bitshares Peer To Peer Tour, which might help explain how this all came about.

I will sign off with my favorite quote from this last segment:

"...So, I don't believe technology will be conscious, but I believe that technology will enable humans to combine to create one global coordinated movement, and that's what this is all about is coordinated efforts that are peaceful, and when we do that, society will never be the same." - Dan Larimer

Best wishes,
and Steem On!
