Spotlights are interviews! @sndbox reaches out to creative individuals and communities of all experience levels. Our goal is to raise awareness towards new users and help connect them with experienced Steemians. @sndbox : Hi @tarekadam, thanks for joining us, tell us about yourself!
@tarekadam : Outside Steemit I am a project manager for a financial processor who supports merchants with implementing changes and enhancements to the used processing platform. I was born and raised in Germany but live now since 13 years in the Netherlands. I have two young boys and married to Liebchen (aka @fathin-shihab).
@sndbox : We've always been big fans of your 3D tutorials and creative work since the early days of Steemit. We're curious, when did you join this platform and what were your (initial) reasons?
@tarekadam : I joined Steemit in August 2016. The initial reason was to gain money without a doubt! After I received 0 to 0.1 cent for my first few 3d design tutorials I was about to quit but than it happened, @blocktrades upvoted my Steemit Whale Key-hanger with 200 USD and I was determined to stay. So thank you @blocktrades!
After I joined SteemFest1 in Amsterdam I was convinced that STEEM and the platform Steemit have a great future ahead, so I sold my 200 ETH (It still hurts to think about that) and I invested all in STEEM when the price was between 0.07 and 0.70 cent.
@sndbox : How has your experience been? How has Steemit affected your initial ambitions and professional practice?
@tarekadam : Since I am on Steemit I am more productive than before in my life. I learned basic Javascript programming and created my first web app, Steem-Buddy and Steem-Flow. Additionally I designed and printed many STEEM related models that are available on Thingiverse (Username Nextin3D) for free download.
My experience with Steemit and @sndbox is just positive! I am not a good writer but since I joined I am more cautious to follow a good writing style and try to have a minimum of 300 words. I am also happy for the support I receive from the team in case I need feedback on my ideas and concepts (e.g. Dochato.io).
@sndbox : We're really interested in a project you've started called Dochato. Could you tell us and the Steemit audience here a bit more about this Charity Smart Media Token that you're developing?
@tarekadam : Dochato.io is a dream project of mine which is intended to be the first blockchain related site that rewards donors for their charity donation with SMT (DCT) Token. I can't build the site myself so I need developers to support me with this. If you are interested than contact me on Steemit Chat or Utopian.io Discord.
@sndbox : Any developers out there looking to collaborate on a charity SMT application? Message @tarekadam to talk more! So, Tarek, looking forward into the next 6 months, where do you see your work going?
@tarekadam : I would like to implement Dochato.io in the next 6 month but also like to build some sort of e-commerce site that accepts STEEM as payment. I am still thinking about the concept but this is definitely on my priority list.
A big thanks to @tarekadam for sharing his story. Be sure to check out his work and the Dochato project. (50% of the SBD earned from this post will go directly to @tarekadam’s account to support his work and SMT project @dochato-io.)
