As I read the welcome note from Steemit the time they verified my application, it says that it was a tradition for all new members to give some little details about themselves together with their picture and the date today, for them to know that you are not a robot after all. LOL. So.. I hurried to fix myself up, bugged my workmate to take a quick pic of me and tadaaaaaaahh..
So, That's the regular me when I'm in the office. By the way, my real name is Donna Gabayno. 25-year-old Filipina working on a IT and Engineering company here in the Philippines. So if you guys might thinking why I'm still up, when I'm supposed to be in bed, sleeping. Well, that's because I'm working against our timezone to cater our US counterparts. On a brief summary, been with the company for 3 years now, promoted as Specialist 2 last year, and was given a 2 weeks vacation to meet our boss in Ohio USA. Yes! our company granted my wish to visit the USA! Wohoooo! That was 2 months ago actually but it still feels like yesterday. So far, I guess that's what all about my career. Enough of this career talking.
Let's just talk about how did I end up signing in and how did I get to know what Steemit is. Well, it all started because of my annoying boyfriend (LOL! I know he's reading this -- I love you Mahal!). He's really into bitcoin and cryptocurrency lately. I don't know exactly how he discovered Steemit, but he bugged me to give it a try. So, I tried to take a looked at it, at first I thought all you could do here is to post stuff about Bitcoins and crypto (which I fancy too, by the way). But I was amused and delighted to know that other than those, it has quite a lot of categories that you guys might be interested of, such as Photoghaphy, Food, Travel, Politics and so much more.
For me I find it as a good way to share my travel experiences and stuff that I know might help and inspire our fellow steemians who loves to travel as much as I do. That's why I came up with "ELDUENNA" it is just actually DUENNA drop the EL, I just wanted my name to be unique. Well, Duenna(noun) describe as an older woman acting as a governess and companion in charge of girls, especially in a Spanish family. In layman's term it is a Chaperone. I don't have a spanish blood or somehing, but I find Duenna as the perfect term I could use, coz' it fits me well and it sounds just like my real name too. Lol! I'm not that old to become one of the Duennas, but I make sure when it comes to traveling, safety always comes first. (Just like our parents always acts when we're trying to tell them where we going, or just the usual old people do.)
I've been traveling outside the Metro for 3 years now. Been to many places here in the Philippines. (But not quite as much). So, as your companion in charge, I'll try to keep you guys updated and share all my travel experiences. It always been my dream to travel the world, let just hope I could make it someday. Don't worry, I'll take you with me so we could do it together. Hope that I don't bore you reading my introductory post but I have to end it here somehow. See you guys around! :)
P.S here's a picture of me when I'm much prepared, kind-of. Lol!
