From a Fighter pilot to a travelling artist - My introduction and some unfulfilled dreams

Hi Steemit Community!

My name is Nadiya Harris and I am new to this lovely community. I must admit, writing has never been my strong suit.  I like to express myself with pictures instead and therefore you will see lots of pictures in my posts.

Being a daughter of a fighter pilot, my childhood was NOT spent like an average girl. While my friends were studying at home, I was completing my homework in an Air Traffic Control room waiting for my father to land. While most of the girls of my age were playing with dolls, I was dressed up as a pilot flying my imaginary plane. My love for the planes stayed with me till the day my father died in a plane crash.

Well tragedies have their way of influencing the lives, it certainly did influence my life for sure and brought me much closer to my mother. My mother has always been an artist. She was always painting or making hand-made crafts. In-time, I started to grow interest in arts and creative work as well.

Fast-forward 15 years, I love collecting items like stamps, keys and making scrapbooks out of pictures, the pictures that pretty much define my entire life. Messing around with paint in the name of art is a hobby of mine that I like to practice frequently with no shame 😊

I have been playing tennis since childhood and have competed in many national level tournaments. Even-though tennis is no longer a regular part of my daily life, I tend to arrange revenge matches with my friends on weekends (until I have my revenge) 😊.

Since last couple of years, I have grown passion for travelling and hit the road (or rather aero-plane) every now and then. I am an introvert and have found best friend in nature. Other than that, my best friends have been my cat and my little sister who loves photography and likes to use me as her make-shift model despite my resistance.

Through this blog, I will be sharing with you my DIY art collection, my travelling adventures, ways to natural remedies and lots of other stuff (I am always exploding with ideas) that I hope you will enjoy. I am already loving the idea of Steemit-ing. Stay tuned for interesting and adventurous future posts.
