WHAT ARE THE PHOTOGAMES? - An Introduction

Fun, interactive, photographic games for the whole Steemit community.

"A little bit of sport and a whole lot of community"

@Photogames now has its own account, to help announce and curate games, show off who's winning and how the weekly competitors are doing, and to help distribute the Prizes. It will be the one account you can follow to keep track of what's new... like which games are going on THIS WEEK!

DUAL GAME PLAY

Most of the games have dual objectives... (some are just for the public)

  1. There is a creative objective for EVERYONE on Steemit who plays.
There is also a prize for every game.
  2. Most games also have a task for weekly competitors: "The Photo Game Stars."
    They play for bragging rights.

FOR THE PUBLIC

There are tons of unique games which rotate all the time. Each game lets ALL OF YOU interact.

Gameplay is usually based on one of the following:

  • Guessing skills
  • Creative commentary tasks
  • Usage of your photo skills
  • Knowledge of photography
  • Posting your own pictures

Some of these games require no photo skills, just an appreciation of photography. Others will greatly benefit the best photographers out there. It really is a game for the whole Steemit community.

FOR THE PHOTO GAME STARS

Each week we select a group of photographers we call the Photo Game Stars to compete against each other in a sub-competition for bragging rights. Most of the games involve them and partly take place on their blogs.

EXAMPLES FROM PAST GAMES

  • You may be guessing the focal length of their pictures and they may be guessing alongside you. They won't be able to win the prize but they are competing against each other that week for bragging rights.
  • Another game like the "Fix It Friday" (editing) game may challenge you all to creatively edit one of their images; meanwhile, the public votes on the weekly competitors' attempts at the same task.

WHO WE ARE

Optional Text

We became close friends by going on yearly photo trips called "Stars and Cars"

Founders are = @jarvie @caseygrimley @derekkind
A group of photographer friends who have lots of creativity and a passion for the Steemit platform. There are decades of photography and social media experience behind us.
We are also regular competitors ("Photo Game Stars"), so please follow us: many of the games require interaction on our individual blogs.

HOUSEKEEPING

  • No cheating, No plagiarism
I.e. never pass off someone else's work or words as your own or without permission.
  • SHARE this account, share our games because the more attention the bigger the prizes can be - not just Steem and SBD, but other cool prizes from companies we work with.

JOIN STEEMIT - this message is to the photo community outside of Steemit.

As Steemit grows exponentially this year we welcome you to the platform and to our games. We know that many of our own group of photographer friends are starting to stream in. But just a little tip: since Steemit takes 5-7 days to get verified before you can create an account, sign up now so you're ready to play with us next week.
