Greetings, earthlings.
Disclaimer
I'd like to apologize in advance because I suck at introducing myself. I've had like five blogs in the past - multiply that by ten, then you'll have the number of times I've tried to come up with a decent introductory post. It always seemed like it doesn't really define me - everything's basically just a collection of random thoughts put together badly. The funny thing is with a mind this disorganized, you wouldn't think that I'd be a developer and writing codes for a living. Huh.
Okay, so here goes...
Hi, my name is Gizelle, a Computer Engineering graduate from MIT (now MU), 26 years of age. I was born and raised in the Philippines, but I'm currently working in Malaysia as an EDI Consultant for DHL. I've been here for 6 months now, and I'm very excited to share my journey with you guys.
2012 me with no worries in life
Why did you have like five blogs in the past?
I've always had the heart for writing. It started way back 2005 in grade school when I first took journalism classes and became part of the school paper. I got that going for 6 years until high school. It sounds geeky but the experience was awesome. I joined a whole bunch of contests (and won), met a lot of people, rode the plane for the first time, and ate a lot of free food. I was the official "photo journalist" (sarcastic air quotes). But that didn't work out well for me because I didn't have the resource to continue learning photography. Anyway, most of my interests were drawn because of that point in my life. So I have (frustrated) writing, (frustrated) photography, (frustrated) layout and photo editing -- hence the number of blogs.
Cyberjaya, Malaysia. You can feel the frustration here, right? Taken by my phone.
What are you up to now?
Oh you now, being a modern hero of my generation and all. JOKE. I'm still trying to settle in, mentally. It's one of my dreams to work abroad because I've always wanted to travel. When I first had that idea, it was all very exciting and scary to be out of my comfort zone - and now I know why. It's not always easy, most of the times I feel like flying back home - but I can't quit that easily. As of now I'm trying to focus on my career development and finding things to do on weekends. On my list - buy a camera and plane tickets.
Petronas Twin Towers, KL. 2017 me went a wee bit crazy and cut my hair short, thrice.
Where do you intend to go?
All over the world, literally. It's a fun, ambitious thing to say. But growing up in a beautiful country where you can't run out of amazing places to go and thrilling things to do - you will really fall in love with traveling. These past few years, you will almost never see me at home on a weekend. Mountains, rivers, caves, waterfalls, beaches, canyons - name it, I will be there. It's one of the things I wanted to share you with you. I am very lucky to have been born in the Philippines. And when you come to think of it, it's only like a dot in the globe. So I can't stress enough how excited I am to see more of what the world has to offer.
Mt. Ulap, Benguet. My favorite mountain.
Twin lagoon, Coron, Palawan. With my jowaers.
Now that you've mentioned him, tell us about your boyfriend
I'm in a long term relationship with my bestfriend. It may sound cliche but we really started as bestfriends. A friend of mine can atest to that, @carloniere HI FRIEND!!! And're is an ECE graduate, we met in college when we joined the same organization. He's currently in the PH. We're trying to work the LDR thing but we also have plans on settling down somewhere together. We're going 8 years this coming May. Yay! He recently visited me here in MY just last Valentine's day. Hihi ❤.
Tanjung Rhu Beach, Langkawi. The far most island is Thailand.
And oh, shoutouts!
Before I end this post, I just want to say hi again to the one who encouraged me to join steemit, @carloniere. He's an okay person, with not much impact on my life. Loljk, I LOVE THIS GUY. As aforementioned, he's also my bestfriend, and my boyfriend's bestfriend, and our other bestfriend's bestfriend. We have like a small cult where we do our rituals like drink ourselves to death any day of the week, then call in sick the next morning. KIDDING. That was before, now we're just matured adults who travel together.

So you guys, that's me. I hope I didn't disappoint too much. You'll be reading more of my past and future adventures and non-adventures (boring things I do in between awesome) like the movies I like, series I binge-watch, and my deepest life realizations as a result of living alone. And I also wish to know more about the cool people in this community.
