Bridge in a Dream :: Beautiful Japan #57

Do you dream of bridges and beautiful gardens?

Bridge_in_a_Dream.jpg

These traditional arched bridges are always nice. When the sun is at a good angle to give us a reflection in the water, the bridge and reflection almost form a circle, which looks like the head of a drum, giving rise to one of the names of this style of bridge: taikobashi, or drum bridge. Some taikobashi have a much greater arch, but many are more like this one.

Coming here in autumn is really a treat!

In The Matrix, Morpheus asks:

Have you ever had a dream, that you were so sure was real? What if you were unable to wake from that dream? How would you know the difference between the dream world and the real world?

Is this a dream? Reality? There is so much natural beauty in autumn in Japan that you really have to wonder...
