Finally At Rest :: Beautiful Japan #101

The end has come for this poor little guy. But even in death, there is beauty.

The deep red jumped out at me against the greenish yellow of the moss. I love the moss that grows everywhere in Japan. And I love how the red of the Japanese maple leaf stands out against it. What a wonderful combination!

Always keep your head high and look high is common advice, at least in the US. Good advice generally, but sometimes there is value in looking down. As I always teach in my photography classes, you never know what you'll see down there, and sometimes the best photo are right beneath our noses.
