Amazing Japanese Photo Booth Culture

Purikura means the Japanese sticker photo booth. The name is a shortened form print club in Japanese. There are many places where you can take sticker photos in Japan. Also there are many different kinds of machines. The price is 400 yen (about $4) to take, which is much cheaper than Korea.
The biggest fun of Japanese sticker photo booth is that the machines are automatically recognizes the face of the people and grows the eyes bigger than their own. It is the best feature for Asian people, but for Western friends, they look like alien sometimes.
There are also many places to rent costumes for photo, so you can rent various costumes if you only pay 100 yen (1,000 won). Nowadays, also you can take a short music videos from the photo booth. After took a photo if you go outside, there is a machine that you can decorate the picture within the time limit. Of course there is a frame, sticker function and also you can dye your hair, put the color lenses on your eyes.
I got really shocked when I first saw the Purikura machine about 7 years ago in Japan. Because we didn't have those kind of app that time. I think I shoot it every once in a week with my friends. When I feel still feel awkward with my Japanese friend we could get closed while taking a Purikura . And I remember that when I was traveling Japan with my family, I laughed for a long time with my mom taking a Purikura.
I'm really happy because there are many places where you can still take a Purikura in Japan. I hope it will still there forever. If you go on a trip to Japan, please try to take a Purikura! It must be a good memory. Thank you for reading.

일본의 프리쿠라 문화
일본의 프리쿠라는 프린트 클럽의 일본식 약어로 스티커 포토부스를 뜻합니다. 일본에서는 스티커사진을 찍을 수 있는 곳도 정말 많고 그 종류 또한 다양합니다. 가격도 400엔으로 (한화 4,000원) 정도로 우리나라보다 훨씬 저렴하죠.
일본의 스티커 사진의 가장 큰 재미는 기계가 사람의 얼굴을 자동으로 인식해 눈이 저절로 커지는 것인데요, 동양인에게는 최고의 기능이지만 서양 친구들은 눈이 어마어마하게 커져 마치 외계인처럼 나오곤한답니다. 또한 코스프레 의상을 빌려주는 곳도 많아 100엔(한화 1,000원)만 내면 다양한 의상들을 빌릴 수 있습니다. 요즘엔 짧은 뮤직비디오 처럼 동영상 촬영도 가능하더라구요.
사진을 찍고 밖으로 나가면 제한시간 안에 사진을 꾸밀 수 있는 기계가 있는데요, 꾸미는 기능 또한 다양하기 때문에 여기서 또다른 재미가 있죠. 프레임, 스티커 기능은 물론 염색, 컬러렌즈등의 고급기능도 있습니다. 이렇게 꾸미기까지 끝내고나면 빠르고 쉽게 휴대폰로 전송이 가능합니다~^^
요즘은 핸드폰 어플로도 이런 기능이 많이 있는데요, 7년전쯤에 제가 처음 일본에서 프리쿠라 기계를 처음 접했을때는 엄청난 유레카였습니다. 일주일에 한번은 꼭 찍은거 같아요. 일본인 친구들을 처음 사귈때 아직 어색한 친구들과 프리쿠라를 같이 찍으면서 더 친해질수 있었던거 같고, 가족들과 여행갔을때도 엄마랑 같이 프리쿠라를 찍으며 한참을 웃었던 기억도 나구요.
