For second place last week, our fantastic regular performer @yusaymon takes the cake. We've never heard U2 done so well, very, very good! Can't wait to see you on screen again this week for the #karaokecontest :)

Last week, once again, those high notes getting hit like crazy by @topkpop. Good on ya girl! I think we're all going to be throwing satin and lace out the window and opt for "Black Velvet"!

Week 8 Begins
Getting more new faces showing up and some regulars, **LOVE IT**! This week we are pulling all we can from the suggestion box that we put out every Saturday. Simply select the one you like best and record yourself singing along with it. Then, drop your video and/or link to your post with the video of you down there in the comments section. Easy, right? Here's 'the catch'.
RULES
- The 1st tag for your submission post must be #karaokecontest.
- This submission thread must be upvoted (if you would like more competition, please resteem it).
- Your video of yourself singing must be in comments of this post (so you can get the popularity vote), or at least a link to your Steemit post entry.
- You must choose one of our selected songs to sing along to.
JUDGING CATEGORIES
- Popular vote: This will carry 40% of the overall score. Whoever has the most upvotes (not reward amount for the post) in the comments below, will win the popular vote. You may only vote for yourself ONCE, purchased bot votes for yourself will not count.
- Timing: 20% weight - how close you are to the timing of the original lyrics.
- Pitch: 20% weight - how close you are to staying on key to the original lyrics.
- Likeness & Performance: 20% weight - how much you actually sound like and embody the singer of the original lyrics.
PRIZES
We will award prizes for 1st, second and third places by the following Tuesday of this post. @michaeldavid has donated 10 STEEM for the first place winner and @enginewitty has given 10 SBD (7 for 2nd place and 3 for 3rd). Winners will be announced Mondays with the posting of each new submission thread.
