What is Kill The Pad Challenge?
Kill The Pad challenge is a weekly topical text based rap competition for SBD. Why am I starting a text based rap initiative? We have many creative writers in the hip hop community. One doesn't have to get onto the mic to show their prowess with lyricism. This will benefit the less experienced and the more experienced alike. Topicals are always a good exercise. It's all about elevating together, learning from each other, and growing as an artist.

The prizes this week are a lot less than usual. I apologize if you were expecting more than this, hopefully next week it will be better :D.
ALSO... This week was SOOOOOOO tough, that I gave the 1st and 2nd place winners the same prize because it was just that close. Can hardly say the 2nd place is truly 2nd place and not more like tied for first, but at the end of the day I had to choose one for 1st and one for 2nd... GREAT JOB GUYS!

This was such a heartfelt verse... I really enjoy this guys writing style because it's just so on the pulse of what is happening in hiphop today. It just seems so current and I love it. If you want to get a good idea of wordplay, punchlines, etc... I would definitely go check out this guys posts. He is so dope!

This guys verse about his mother really touched my heart... So good and so true. Was a touch decision between him and @simgirl, but I had to go with him because it just really touched a special place. I'm a major mama's boy, so you know, that might have something to do with it :D. Go check his post out for some truly heart warming lyrics.
