When we considered the interior set up of our 1975 Series 3 landrover we felt building drawers in the floor took up too much space. I also like to cook on the fly without too much set up. So we designed a cook box that stores the kero burner (no cumbersome gas bottles) and a few pots and pans and the coffee stuff that sits neatly inside the back door. Its removable if we want. Worked a treat this morning after a lovely surf where we spotted a school of dolphins cruising past. Theres been a few shark sightings of late so the first fin always makes your heart beat!
Had a great drive through the Otways National Park last night too and spotted a beautiful wedgetail eagle overhead.

We also like to keep it simple and inexpensive. I always wonder how many sheets of ply and how many screws we have used in all our vehicle builds. A lot, I would reckon! I love the storage unit though.. it is easy access and much better than lifting up floors to find stuff. Heaps of room for food, wetsuits, camp gear and shoes etc. Note the ceiling is insulated with foilboard and a plastic coated wood look ply which was easy to work with and wipe clean. Much better than bare metal. Battery/solar set up is behind cupboards for 12 volt fridge.
Jamie has done an amazing job making this 45 year old girl roadworthy and she is a pleasure to take out on mini adventures.
