1.To Know Is To Experience:

Many of us have had that friend or a family member who would come back from abroad and recount their stories. Those stories that excite us and make us want to know more. yet, nothing has more effect on us than having the ability to experience it ourselves.

Taking a look at the soapy waters of Niagara Falls to experiencing the first snowfall of the year from the window can't be experienced as stories. You might want to go to Disneyland and you were thrilled by the articles that discuss it.

You may have heard from people how exciting the amusement park rides are however unless you haven’t been there and experienced it all by yourself, thousand pages of information or a hundred stories is nothing compared to one trip abroad.

2.We’re All Humans:

Even if we are from different societies and cultures, At the end of the day we are all human's. I got a chance to meet people from different countries and cultures by being abroad. I would have never come across them if I had not been here. Every culture is unique and each individual takes pride in what his or her culture has to offer to the world. Whether it is the family get-together and mealtime of the Chinese New Year or American Thanksgiving or Yoga originating from India that offers physical and spiritual well-being for people of the world. Spending time with family and being grateful or seeking happiness or health has nothing to do with a specific culture rather it originates from our inner core. We’re all humans as a whole and we all seek the same things to a large extent.

3.Appreciating Where You Belong:

Whether it’s your cultural roots or your family and friends back home, you start to value them. Not because you miss them but for what each other has added to your life. You will never understand how rich or distinct your way of life is unless you don’t wind up living abroad. Easily overlooked things that you may not pay attention to while living in your home country are no longer little. It is not about proving that one culture is superior another but rather about seeing where you come from. Things that makeup who you are. People who are important and who we are thankful to have in our lives. Only when you end up living abroad will you genuinely value all the things and everyone who has played an important role in shaping you as a person.

The person who took little strides each day to discover the new, while living abroad.
