Is This The Next Lebron?

The NBA Finals are upon us but the Internet is still buzzing about this 16 year old man child out of South Carolina.  He throws down savage man dunks in the games like he is a grown ass professional basketball player in a showcase dunk contest.  Windmill 360s, two handed 360s, in your face two hand slams and much more.  He is only a junior in high school and Drake is wearing his jersey, follows him on Instagram, and has been texting with him.  Which is honestly really smart on Drake's part because it helps him stay relevant with the younger kids coming up.

This kid's name is the stuff of legend.  ZION WILLIAMSON

Can he have a more marketable name? He is 6'7" 230 lb.  Somehow he is young for his grade too because it is the end of the school year and he is only 16 years old still.  He doesn't turn 17 until mid summer.  Going into his senior year of high school and he has already went on a lot of visits to the different universities he is looking to play for.  Lebron was the last player to come straight out of high school directly to the NBA.  They changed the rules to where a player must spend one year in college which I think is dumb but that is besides the point.

Zion is being compared to Lebron because of the flashy and powerful dunks and his all around game.  He can do more than dunk.  I have assessed his game and he can drive with the ball with either hand.  He has the ability to knock down his shots from beyond the 3 point line.  He can finish well in traffic and has a special touch at the hoop if he isn't able to throw down a dunk.  His defense is also solid and he regularly gets his head above the rim and spikes other players shots reminding them to not be attempting to score while he is around.

Overall it will be interesting how well this kid progresses over the next year.  There are a lot of great ball players coming up through the high school ranks and they seem to just keep getting better and better as the years go on.  I attribute this to the Internet.  Now everyone is able to watch other guy's mix tapes on YouTube and then that is the bench mark.  They start expecting that they need to play that well and take their game up a notch.

Good luck to Zion and it seems like he has a pretty level head on his shoulders considering the fact that he is growing in popularity fast.
