Strength and Courage in a small package.

This is my niece Mia just before her 3rd birthday . On March 7th, 2016 she hadn't been feeling well so her mom took her to their pediatrician. There they learned they needed to go to more advanced hospital an hour away to confirm results of a blood test. After the results were confirmed they had to take a 4 hour ambulance ride to a specialized childrens hospital. There she was officially diagnosed with leukemia, high risk B cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia to be exact. It was an entire month before they were able to return home.

Fast forward 1 year to now, after countless stays in the hospital, helicopter transports, blood draws, neutropenic diets, steroid and chemo injections, and 20 spinal taps, Mighty Mia is in remission.

Mia's picture being shown at Times Square for Children's Cancer Research Fund.

It has been a very long and difficult journey so far and the end is not near..... but the light at the end of the tunnel can be seen. The hospital visits are less, her hair is finally starting to grow back, she is able to go outside and play, she is finally able to continue dance class. She is able to just be a little girl.
