I was thinking of a time when my kids were young. Today, @lydon.sipe shared photos of his pasture, baling and storing hay for the winter.
His photos triggered a memory of Sunday drives in the country with our kids.
I'd say "Hay!!" in a melodic voice every time we'd pass hay bales. Every. Time.
They'd reply, "What?"
I'd say, "Hay is for horses." And I'd laugh.
They eventually tired of it, so I waited until their kids were in the back seat and tried it on them.
Now they play my game.

The best part of this little ritual of mine?
Once I got the kids to automatically say Hay! when they'd see it,
I'd counter it with —
"Hay is for horses."
I know, lame. But, grandchildren enjoy such things from their grandparents, after all.

I didn't have an iPhone or DSLR camera back then so the pictures I"m posting today are from other sources.
