Here are some more amazing sights from this great event.
The San Diego Maker Faire in Balboa Park is a marvelous annual event. After you sample the fun we had there, you'll want to find one in your neighborhood.
“The work of today is the history of tomorrow, and we are its makers.”

There were amazing things to see, both indoors and out of doors.
Here are a few more sights that I couldn't miss in passing.
A Giant, Flaming Robot.
I'm guessing this robot was about thirty feet tall, with blasts of flame issuing from his palms.

One passenger-carrying robot giraffe.
Mr. Giraffe and his happy passengers were being carefully led around the grounds by a clearly labeled Giraffe crew-member.

The usual hard-to-resist food concessions.
I brought my own lunches, so as to avoid temptation and spending money I don't have...
You can see the Botanical Building in the background.

There was a robot sheep on hand.
It of course reminded me of Philip K. Dick's novel, "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" which now, because of filmmaking, is more widely known as "Blade Runner."

Speaking of robots,
I found this robot arm quite delightful. There were actually two of these largely 3D-printed arms side by side, one slaved to the other. It was a fascinating experience to move the arm on the left manually, and watch the one on the right track and imitate the motions in real-time.

Check out this antique orrery.
It was indoors at the Fleet Science Center, downstairs from where we had our exhibit.

Read the legend.
Only seven planets were known at the time this was constructed by Thomas Blunt in London, about 1809.

San Diego Maker Faire; the place to be!
Really, people - you need to find a Maker Faire to attend. Your children and grandchildren will thank you.
More Maker Faire fun on the way!
Stay tuned — I hope to publish details of our exhibit booth in the near future.

You are why I'm here on Steemit!
I have very eclectic interests and hope, over time, to write about them all.
