Today we have opted for convenience in the ways that we live, especially when it comes to food and the ways in which we consume it. What we think has become more efficient, has really enabled masses to their sudden deaths. This "convenience" many our fond of, has come at a cost. A cost of a loss of knowledge on how to complete a task that is primitive to our survival as people. It has been forgotten what it means to prepare a meal without someone pre-packaging it for us. We’ve forgotten what it means to cook and prepare real food without feeling as though we’re doing a too much work, and Microwaves take away one of the most necessary elements we need to prepare food, which is the fire. The heat that causes bread to rise, or the flames that ignites the aroma of freshly cooked food to surface into our senses. These things seem insignificant but it is what makes food what it is, and because of the lack of knowledge presented to us regarding our food in American culture, our nutrition is suffering for it.


What is A Microwave?

Microwave ovens are kitchen appliances which are used to cook or reheat food by emitting microwaves. Microwaves are a form of electromagnetic radiation and are on the low energy end of the energy spectrum, second to radio waves. The waves are generated by something called a magnetron – it can be found within every microwave oven. Microwaves produced within the microwave oven cause dielectric heating – the waves bounce around the inside of the oven and are absorbed by whatever is placed in the oven.

Heating Food In A Microwave Oven


Water must be present within the substance. When water is not present, heating will cease to occur and it would remain cool. Seeing as almost everything except for dried substances retain water, it applies to almost anything. The reason for this is that water molecules within the food vibrate at incredible speeds, creating molecular friction which is responsible for the heating of the food. The structure of the water molecules are torn apart and vigorously deformed. This is much different than any other methods of cooking, as other methods such as convection ovens heat up food by transferring heat from the outside inward.

In Russia


Microwave Ovens were banned in 1976 because of their negative health consequences as many studies were conducted on their use, and the invention of the microwave and its mass adoption by the population coincides with the onset of obesity in developed nations around the world. Not only did the microwave make it convenient to eat more obesity-promoting foods, it also destroyed much of the nutritional content of those foods, leaving consumers in an ongoing state of malnourished overfeeding. In other words, people eat too many calories but not enough real nutrition. The result is, of course, what we see today: Epidemic rates of diabetes, cancer, heart disease, depression, kidney failure, liver disorders and much more.

Microwaves were first recorded to be invented and used by the Nazi’s in Germany to provide a method of cooking for their troops during World War II. Seeing as though these microwave ovens have been experimental and new, the US War Department was assigned to research these new devices shortly after the war. Turns out, the U.S. didn’t really perform the extensive research necessary for the new invention. Instead, the Russians decided to tackle the issue with extreme force. Intrigued by this new device, the Russians conducted in-depth research to discover the biological effects they might possess. The results were staggering enough to lead to a ban of the new device in the Soviet Union. The ban, however, was later lifted during Perestroika, the political movement responsible for the restructuring of the Soviet Union. One study that did recently receive national press coverage found that broccoli cooked in a microwave oven lost almost all of its antioxidants (a stunning 97% depletion), compared to 11% lost by conventional steaming. Given that the antioxidants in broccoli and other cruciferous vegetables (like cauliflower, Brussels sprouts and cabbage) are known to have powerful anti-cancer effects (in part by modulating estrogen metabolism), this is indeed a serious loss. This reaffirms an earlier Russian study showing a 60-90% decrease in food value in microwaved foods. Bad as that seems, It may pale by comparison with some of the other problems posed by microwaving.


A Swiss study from 1992


Performed by Dr. Hans Hertel, was suppressed for several years from legal maneuvering by a powerful electrical appliance trade organization. His study found a decreased number of red blood cells, and of their oxygen bearing hemoglobin content, in people eating microwaved foods--along with increased cholesterol levels. Even more troubling is the creation in these foods of Radiolytic compounds hitherto unknown in Nature, the effects of which on the human body remain completely unknown. The piece of resistance for this same study, was its reporting of an increased number of leukocytes, or "white blood cells", present in the body after the ingestion of microwaved foods. White blood cells are the foot soldiers of the immune system, so what this suggests is that the body was perceiving the microwaved food as an invader, or toxin, rather than as nourishment. The reason for this has to do with the way microwaves restructure food molecules.


The Party Line

Microwave Ovens produce a type of electromagnetic energy similar to that naturally produced by the sun; but solar microwaves generate direct current (DC) while Microwave Ovens rely on alternating current (AC) to create heat by molecular friction or agitation. Protein is made up of building blocks called amino acids. These amino acids can be found in two forms: those with a Levo or left-handed molecular spin , and those with a Dextro or right-handed molecular spin. Most amino acids can only be used by the Cells in their L-form and are toxic in their D-form & not generally found Dextro in nature. Another study from earlier last year Reported that Microwaving does indeed reverse the molecular spin on at least one amino acid (the only one studied), changing it from the benign L-form to the toxic D-form. I suspect this to be the reason behind the Swiss discovery of the unnatural immune response by the body from the ingestion of microwaved foods, as well the Russian report detailing the presence of numerous carcinogenic substances in such food.

In Addition

To the worry over how the microwaving process alters food chemistry, microwave ovens also generate a large and powerful electromagnetic field when in use. This field, which can extend as far as six to eight feet from the appliance, has the potential to damage the DNA of any biological system (including you!) that it penetrates. At the very least it would be expected to set off a cascade of rampaging free radicals, dangerous molecules missing an electron that steals electrons from otherwise healthy tissues which damages them in the process. Because of this, it is extremely unwise to stand near a microwave oven when it is in use, and children in particular should be instructed in no uncertain terms to stay away from them. While technology can indeed offer us tremendous benefits, we would be foolish to ignore the very serious risks that microwave ovens pose to our health in favor of mere convenience. Plenty of other alternatives exist, including quick-heating toaster ovens.


So What Choice Should We Make?


There are NO benefits from having a microwave in Our homes. There are many ways to warm our food up food in a timely manner. If Your life seems to hectic for you to make time for yourself or your family to Prepare a meal, look at where your priorities lie and ask yourself if it is worth Living life like you have No time! Because as We Live and Think That Way, Our Life Becomes that way! Nutritional value is significantly reduced when food is Microwaved and Carcinogenic substances are formed from the microwaving of nearly all foods tested. Microwaves have negative effects on our blood, and these degenerative changes in nutrients causes changes in blood hence human physiology. Living means Loving Yourself, Doing things for ourselves that will ensure us a healthy life & Just because we know we will leave our bodies someday does not justify what we do to it while we are here.
