Here are some of my favorite Mac menu bar apps. I found a few of them recently, and others I’ve been using for years — I love little tools that make specific tasks much more streamlined.

If there are any great menu bar apps that I haven’t mentioned here, please let me know in the comments! 🙏

Coin Tick (free)

This app lets you track crypto prices in the menu bar. You just pick the coins from the drop down menu and the prices stay updated. Really helpful if you’re trying desperately not to check your phone every 3 seconds like I was. 😆

Aware (free)

A super simple app to track how long you’ve been active on the computer. This is great for those times where you feel that you’ve been working away for hours, but then realize that it’s only been 20 minutes and it’s probably not time for a break yet. Or to help explain why your eyes are melting after working for 5 hours straight without a break.

Magnet ($0.99)

Magnet is pretty hard to live without after you’ve used it. You can drag windows into the corners or sides of your screen to reisize them.

Paste ($10)

Paste is a clipboard manager that saves everything you copy or cut for access later. This has been a lifesaver on multiple occasions when I accidentally overwrote my clipboard after copying something important. You can also pick certain apps that it won’t copy from if you’re worried about accidentally saving passwords.

PixelSnap ($15)

This is has been incredibly helpful for web design. It lets you measure anything on your screen. So cool!

Itsycal (free)

Not much to explain here — it’s a super simple calendar app that lives in your menu bar.

Bartender ($15)

And finally, an app to help organize the clutter created from loving menu bar apps too much. Bartender has a bunch of features I haven’t really explored yet, but the basic functionality I’m using lets you hide and collapse some of your menu bar icons.

I hope these apps are as helpful for you as they are for me! Don’t forget to let me know in the comments if you know of any other great tools! 🙂

Note: The pretty background in all of the GIFs is this awesome wallpaper from Mikael Gustafsson.
